nah, white socks are pretty awful in any business suiting environment. The connotations are quite negative and strong.

I agree. If I saw someone on my team wearing a pair of white socks, I'd send him home.
That's why I am gonna go to H&M and get a nice pair of navy socks.

You need to get over the wool-hate, Noodles. Embrace the challis.
This arrived from Henry Carter today and I loves it.

@noodles , I'm pretty sure that Hober striped grenadine is going to be restocked this month.

I wouldn't recommend them for work, but I can see in a casual setting it being pulled off. I don't know I think I saw an outfit use them from some fashion thing and I thought it actually looked good.

I mean I'd wear them when I wear black-white spectators or white shoes (I don't own any of those, so basically never).

I have off white socks that I wear with my off white linen trousers. I've tried every colour, navy, light blue, burgundy, forest green, and beige, but off white looks the best.

I picked one of those up the other day as well. Very nice tie! Also nabbed this guy while I was shopping around Henry Carter. [IMG]

Both gorgeous! Jungle is that a wine red or more of a brown hue?

    Agreed.

Or if you must have a stripe, get the one you're told. That is the wrong one.

There is a lot of love in the word of challis. These are truly lovely. But if it's too big a leap, ease yourself into autumnal wonders via the smooth, dry madder...mmm...obey, Noodles, it will make you happy.

+1 1980s estate agent. Not an admirable look.
Me too. Casual, usually with loafers, and not white white.

Very good, and that's fair enough for an emergency. But now you're online with your credit card, try www.henrycarter.com.au or www.meschaussettesrouges.com, or www.exquisitetrimmings.co.uk, and look at some herringbones, micro-checks, or even the safe solids such as burgundy, in addition to your beloved navy. Over the calf. The gentleman's sock. Cotton or wool, no nasty mixed fibres. Bresciani have some fine stuff, Mazarin etc for the safe options, Gammarelli's wool ones for a reasonably priced super-luxury. I think HC has some Brescianis still on sale. Go get 'em...

    You are wanted elsewhere. Hurry.

It is more of a brown although it does have a "copper" tint to it maybe.
