What has this thread evolved into now?

(not snarking; just haven't read it for a while and now we're doing jackets?!)

This thread is becoming genuinely surreal.

I was mentioning what everyone was doing/asking about and that I don't have any news or questions from Stitches for this thread, as soon as I posted that I realized this thread doesn't have any news/questions from you either. Thats all.

    Prof Cleavage,
I have an idea of what I want to do with this tie. I have a shirt in mind. Definitely not one of my plain ones. But I do not yet know whether it will work or not. I shall have its unveiling very soon.

They JUST shipped the Cappelli tie. I cannot wait for that one to arrive. [IMG]

I wouldn't go nuts with the choice of shirt for that tie - the tie should be the focal point.

...but I wanted to pair it with a patterned shirt. Is that too advanced at this stage?

I think the answer just comes down to which shirt - you definitely don't *have* to go with a solid. But the pattern shouldn't be too out there ...

as i see it, this thread is for any n00b, actual, relative, or latecomer, to come and get advice/be told what to do, and to not throw a hissy fit when they are told they done messed up, be it in the past or present.

unlike in WAYWRN, when many a n00b get some harsh feedback (or even not so harsh) and start fighting back and explaining why their horrid fit is great or at the least, the rock it cuz they like it, here, there is no fighting. only learning, parting ways with bad habbits, and maybe some kopping.

unlike some similar threads of the past, this is a little more open minded as to what is good by general SF standards. its not ultra CBD, or OTT group think, its fair its honest and its broad.

    and i like it.

Rezso couldn't say, and I don't know because I worked out an arrangement to swap them for antic cognac. Don't get me wrong, the dark brown is really nice if that's what you're looking for, but I would guess, from the shoe you're describing, that you probably have something lighter in mind. I have a pair of Carminas in brown scotchgrain, and they are clearly brown, if that helps.
