What is the deal with all the "daytime" IPAs that are popping up from everyone?

And while IPAs will always be my first love, I CANNOT wait for the chocolate-y/coffee-y/caramel-y stouts of fall/winter to come around

We shall endeavor to have on when the meet up ensues.

    Of the alcoholic variety?

AC - I do like Dogfish Head, forgot about that.

I also once had some Delerium Tremins (sp?), that was pretty good too.

The beer or condition? :D I like the beer, the condition, not so much.

I forgot Goose Island as well.

I've been drinking beer from 12 onwards, but I kinda got bored of it when I was around 18 years old. However, when I went to the US I started liking it again, because there are so many micro breweries! The whole micro brewery thing only just caught on in Europe.

When I go out I mainly stick to whisky or bourbon nowadays, with an odd pear cider here and there during the summer months. One thing I'm very impressed by in the UK is how they've mastered the art of drinking. Every pub and bar is full from 4PM onwards on Thursdays and Fridays, and earlier on Saturdays and Sundays. It tells you a lot about the culture that the only acceptable excuse for leaving the office early is to go out drinking.

    Miss y'all.

Also +1 to Sierra Nevada. My favorite beer, though, is Pilsner Urquell. Really depends on the situation. Urquell for dinner (or Krombacher). Cerveza Sol if I'm outside and it's hot. Lunch I like Stella or Sierra Nevada.

Not a local micro brew but I can always have a Bass, Boddington or a Harp. All this talk is making me thursty.

Portland has tons of microbrews and I just tried an IPA recently called Gritty McDuff which I liked a lot. Some IPAs have way too much hops for me and it's overpowering.

Then again, I usually prefer the Belgian beers. Duvel is my favorite of those.

Another domestic I enjoy is Allagash Black - Portland once again.

while that is quite good, if I had to choose a best it would be Heady Topper (which is significantly better than any IPA I have ever had).

The beer definitely yes. The condition, I have never had. Assuming it sucks, I hope it stays that way.

New Glarus and Bell's . . . two of my favorites. And nothing like a cold Sierra Nevada on a hot Summer's day. [IMG]

Well. I live in some real ale country so now we're talking.

Also live around twenty miles from the Bass brewery ol' friend. Try Marston's Pedigree if you see it. Timothy Taylor's ales.... could go on for hours
