I didnt even watch the vid lol.
Noodles, I get the history with Japan. But there is some weird thing with Taiwan that I don't understand. Maybe it's more from their side?
Just 2 (non korean) guys poorly imitating Koreans
I think we can agree that Japan was not a nice country to Korea or China in the past
Ah! Sorry man, didn't watch the vid either. Hence the reference was lost on me.
Yeah. To both countries. What's frustrating is the way in which conservative politicians in Japan treat that part of their history.
And in Seoul, of course, it's way overblown. For example, everyone here knows how Japan produced a history textbook that basically ignored anything Imperial Japan did to Korea and China. Nobody knows that that book sparked nationwide protests in Japan, that only two high schools in the entire country ended up using that book, and neither high school finished the semester with that book due to the outcry.
What is really irksome is the way in which Japan discusses Korean sex slaves. Either stating a) not a big deal as all armies do this (though the extent to which this was institutionalized is unique, as well as perhaps the degree) or b) they were willing
I've met a few of these "comfort women" (as conservative Japanese insist on calling them) through my wife--and...well...imagine you were kidnapped and repeatedly raped dozens of times a day for years and then told you were a willing participant.
My dad's family is Dutch-Indonesian. They can tell a thing or two as well about how not so nice the Japanese could treat other people.
Without wanting to turn this thread into a political discussion, I can understand why China for instance was outraged when recently Japans PM found it necessary to visit a military cemetery where some notorious war criminals are interred (and honoured with a memorial, if I'm correct...).
Yasukuni. It was a big deal here too.
OK getting this thread back on track
Thoughts on these shoos?
Mannina in Florence
Might get a pair once I find out sizing/last info
I don't own a single pair of Italian shoes. Usually don't like the lasts they use or the overly-patinated leather. (Example: Bontoni, Santoni)
These are more tastefully done, IMO. Nicer lasts
Looking at the round toe monk and oxford below. Nice shape
The Japanese make great shoes.
Unipair is now carrying an in house brand made in Japan. Alright looking and moderately priced. No idea about the quality.
guys i dont want japanese shoes
im talking about MANNINAS!
Standing in line for a G&G sale. What has my life come to?
Cheers, it's right next to the tower bridge. You can see it in the background of that picture. The Thames is one street to the right, behind those buildings. It's one of those areas that has gentrified rapidly over the past 10 years.
I live in that area too. Are you on the river? Apparently a lot of the buildings aren't actually old warehouses and we're built to fit in. Haven't bothered to check if that's true or not.
Good luck with the G&G, any idea if they are restocking as they go along like EG?
My building is a converted Victorian warehouse, if I'm correct. I don't live on the Thames, but I'm a 30 second walk from it. The places that I've looked at on the river within my budget were too small. I might move over to the river in a year or two.
I don't think G&G is restocking, the line is so long that I'm wondering if anything will be left when it's my turn.
