Sadly, even that is probably an understatement!

I believe they occasionally involve the picnicker asking people to whip him.

I was thinking id go for 3.25 to match my ties for my peak ones as I'm more likely to wear a tie with them.

Is hacking on DBs done? Just wondering if it's taboo because it conflicts with the button arrangement or something.

I might get one done in hacking and see how I like it before I proceed. I'll make sure to post here.

I would certainly characterize that as odd, but . . . not bad? I definitely like cream linen DB suits, as nonsensical as it is to wear double breasted anything in the heat. Hadn't considered a SB version, though. Hmmm.

FAIK hacking pockets were originally designed for practical purpose, you know: fumbling around in your pockets for more bullets while riding your horse on a fox hunt etc.
As such, I feel they have no place on a city suit. Just my 2 cents though...

Company isn't SAC Wireless, by any chance? Here's to wishing that only good things come out of this change for you. :)

Unless you are a regular in Covent Garden and on Shaftesbury Avenue.
There they come in handy, esp ticket pockets in hacking. ;)

Don't know how strictly CBD your work environment is, but I'd say stretch that comfort zone a little.
Will look great with a light blue shirt, not so with white IMHO.

Thanks EliodA. I'm trying to stretch it, for sure. My conservative style has some to do with my CBD environment, but also mostly my colorblindness. As such, I stick with solid ties and pin dots a lot, because I have a hard time matching colors and patterns.

V1, as Elio said light blue shirt is the way forward, not white for me. Also the darker the suit the more I look 'washed out' with a tie like that, of course you may be quite different. Just saying...

    Folks, a small dilemma

I picked up these dark brown bluchers last year thinking I'd wear them with brown and mid-gray flannels and sports coats in the fall but I find myself not reaching for them. Instead, I reach for some chocolate suede chukkas.I worry that they are a bit too sleek and city for flannel and SC (elongated toe and lack of brogueing). Despite being bluchers, I feel that they would look better with a suit. See Mr. Craig who is sporting black ones:

I can see wearing them in a more casual setting with crisp well fitting navy, gray or brown cotton trousers and appropriately well fitting shirt, but most days, I do have SC and tie on and weekends I tend to put on sneakers or dessert boots. So, they sit on the shelf.

What say you? Should be usable in the settings I had originally intended? Suggestions for other pairings? Trade for mid brown brogue bluchers like these?

V1 - I like the tie, but its very dark. Going to be hard to get ant contrast going with a navy suit. That irks me, but ymmv.

Tweedy, I like the shoes, but they definitely have limited applications. I think if they were mine id wear them with trousers and shirt with a sweater on top. Thats about it. So, Id say trade.
