Sharing good natured style tip I got from Ralph Lauren via e-mail this morning: "Freshen up a classic grey suit by layering the jacket over a Fair Isle Sweater or a collegiate inspired hoodie." [IMG]

Noodles, your homework assignment for next week is to wear a gray suit jacket over a hoodie to work.

Those do seem to be what I need. But will the 10 fit my ultra-wide dogs?

I guess I was basically wondering if there's a retailer in NYC where I can get my Carmina last sizing nailed down. It's always a bit tricky for me.

Of course especially for those in Australia / Asia it probably makes more sense to get them at HC, who sells them more or less at the same as ET ;)

With Viola Milano you pay a 40% premium only for a feigned Eyetalian provenance.

Sorry, forgot you asked that question. If you are a EEE, then MTO is your only option for Carmina. Carmina offers extra wide versions of the Forest and Rain lasts as MTO options. As to how those might fit you, I would reach out for @steveyoo1983 , who should be able to give you good advice. Then, when you see a GMTO on the Forest or Rain last that you want to participate in, you simply order yours in the extra wide version.

Noodles thread regulars, should I keep this Corneliani for PRL linen jacket? I've always liked the idea of a navy linen jacket, but now that I see how casual it is, I wonder if I'll ever wear it with a tie. I think it will look great with a pair of slacks and casual shirt, but I'm in a tie most days of the week, so questioning how much use it will get. To the extent it helps, got it on sale for $199.

P.S. This picture will self-destruct in 30 minutes for obvious reasons.

    What's the work environment like?

I have a linen steel blue jacket that I like but wear only in the late spring and summer, white pants with light colored casual shoes and light blue BD. Shantung, linen, large weave grenadines, or knit ties would work nicely. The slightly lighter blue makes it easier to pair with dark ties though. I do prefer it more as a casual jacket, without tie. Something patterned but not a neat, would be fine. E.g. a striped shantung.

I'm not sure how well it fits you, though. Is it slightly big? Could be all the rumples out of the box? The fit of the jacket would be more of my concern.

Law firm work environment, so unlikely to go too crazy and pair the jacket with anything beyond tan or gray pants. Here's a picture of one size down, which I think is too small in the chest (lapels bowing and pulling away from collar). In order to fit my chest and shoulders, I've been trending towards going a size up and then having my tailor clean up the back and waist to get a more pleasing aesthetic. In the past, I've gone with the size below and just dealt with the lapel/collar issues, which is perfectly fine in a casual jacket that I won't button up.

It looks way too big in the first pic to me.
