Get RTW before MTM. There are exceptions, but generally jumping right to MTM or bespoke ends poorly for all involved. From what I understand, you can get SS in Australia without paying customs, and they offer free returns. I'd experiment there.

As far as what you'll like in a few years: the simpler the better. Solid navy. Solid gray. Simple, small scale patterns would probably fit the bill as well. Some that you probably won't regret purchasing down the line:

Slightly more interesting but still safe

I think it was JR or L2BR maybe who kopped those HY boots a while ago though there was a quality control issue of some sort (@jungleroller and @luv2breformed ). They look nice and for that price point, and perhaps worth a go. Jamison makes good pants for sure...sale on some of those right now.

Clags, I swore I looked at those boots and they only had a size 9. I checked on my phone and he has most sizes. I'm ordering if that's the case...

EDIT: just reloaded and only size 9. Shit.

I think it was L2B then. He had ordered the other version, not a boot, but received the boot. Ended up keeping them.

I have some Wolverine 1000 Miles in CXL. Like DWF, I consider the material suitable for casual/workwear type fits.

Thanks for the detailed, Claghorn, its very helpful. Free returns mean it would be silly to not try these out, but the lapels that to my eye err on the side of skinny do worry me a little, and were what interested me in some of the MaCo alternatives that eHaberdasher stocks. Any other good alternatives? Something slim, with a very soft, if not natural, construction.

That is ridiculous. Awesome SC! Is it available for people residing outside the US to get their hands on?
