well, yes and no. if one is trying to put together a fit that most SFers collectively would like, that tie would pretty much be impossible to wear. so, is it a bad tie objectively? no. is it a bad tie as far as SF is concerned? yes.

Well, conservative business dress isn’t the entirety of classic style, though it’s arguably the main focus of the forum (which is fine: it’s certainly OK to have a focus).

I’m not suggesting that we should all change our clothes four times a day like our forebears did, but I am saying that there’s a defensible logic behind the traditional distinction between day and evening dress.

    Cheers,

    Ac

I wouldn't describe most of what's posted these days as "conservative business dress," even in the lowercase. A lot of it doesn't look very businessy at all -- more louche Italian who likes to read the Chap.

what are you confused about. its a bad tie on SF in every way. but there is more to the world than SF.

i dont think that conservative business dress is the main focus here at all.

Got some new linen trousers. I'm going to post this in the Tailor's thread but sometimes feedback in here is faster. I like the fullness of the leg, they feel like wearing my pijamas. I don't know what could be done to clean a bit the back area of the trouser.

I am having trouble finding where there is an issue, Betel.
If I had to guess, you have an issue with extra fabric in your seat area???

    Thanks, l2b!

Yup, don't know if the seat could be cleaner, if that makes sense.

I think that rumpling in the fabric is very minor, and will always be covered by your jacket? I wouldn't mess with these measurements further and I'd be very happy with that fit. YMMV.

Thanks, estitchy. Those are RTW. But I got the contact of the tailor so I think I finally found who will make my trousers. [IMG]

And really really cheap. He charges around $60 usd for workmanship plus fabric. Not bad. [IMG]
