I guess we all suffer from the same. I cant even get a ss cus I am replenishing my wife's wardrobes
Not so much a criticism as an observation. I agree it looks good (and will look good either way) and is worlds apart from the Isaia and Zegna stuff @The Noodles used to squeeze himself into.
So if I need to shorten the sleeve and cut off at that pink line, can the tailor move everything (buttons and all) up the sleeve?
This prob is a dumb question lol
...and the sleeves dont need that much shortening
Yes, but you couldn't do 4 working button holes. Not enough room.
Oh gosh darn it.
Nothing wrong with 3 buttons and it didn't look like you needed to take them up that much in the pic. It'll work out.
It appears I will have to cut at the top button area. That's where the wrist bone(?) protrudes.
Look at the La Spalla sleeve length, that is perfect...about .5cm showing. From the fit pic, it doesn't look like you would need to take them (Formosa) up more than 1cm, maybe 1.5. Just take it to the tailor, it'll be fine. I understand sleeve length has some personal preference...just my opinion.
Anybody wanna opine?

@The Noodles that's too aggressive IMO
Why wouldn't you shorten the arms at the shoulder? That way you can keep all the buttons as they are.
For a whole lot of reasons...
i have done it. not a great option. throws of the pitch/balance. the elbow curve ends up above your elbow and its vey uncomfortable.
its also costly and only a real expert can detach and reattach the sleeve head from the shoulder hole.
Also on a patterned coat like this one it will throw off have matching with the body and other sleeve
