    Ah~
Because I usually wear navy blue suits, I thought it would be a no brainer to just purchase a beater navy dress trousers for days when I don't feel like dressing up in a suit. But if light grey is more versatile, then I'll go that route. I haven't thought of it that way.

    Better ain't binary.

The difference in fit (and I suspect quality) between MTM and SS isn't great enough to justify the price difference. If SS weren't available, then I'd have no problem sticking with MTM. But now that I know it fits me, there are other things I could do with that money. Things that are a lower priority than clothes. But things which increase in priority when confronted with a SS vs MTM decision (in other words, they are a higher priority than the difference in quality/fit).

Anyway. I know it works for me. Got a brown corduroy (know idea what I'm going to do with it. Can one wear cords with wool?) for cheap off of B&S for the purpose of seeing how Havana would fit. I realize I could've just waited to return to the States, but I wanted to find out now as that knowledge will influence whether or not I arrange with the MTM tailor to work long distance (I won't).

    -----------

Also, I need some advice. How can I wear a brown corduroy jacket? Hopefully while avoiding cotton pants

Light grey flannels work. I'd think most trousers in tan would work pretty well too and even if you are not a huge fan of cotton pants, I would consider some tan slightly lighter colored moleskin trousers.

Yep that is cotton. Sorry missed that in reading your post.
I congratulate your wife on her excellent taste ;)

Edit: I have a brown moleskin SC, which works well with Pow odd trousers. Should work with corduroy as well. And should appeal to you, right? I'll see if I can find a pic...

where the hell have you been, man?

id wear cotton pants, but absent that, you need a nicely textured pant.

this. and yes HY is a good route, but you need to see if their cuts work for you.

See, that is the idea that I do not subscribe to, the way you do. Also, Leonard Cohen is pretty awesome.

@The Noodles - I have those exact pants from NMWA. They are the perfect summer pant.

+1. I love my Zanellas in spring super 100s and winter flannel. They're more fully cut than HY, Epaulet Walts, Incotex/Mabitex, and many other currently popular brands, though, so if that's a turnoff you might look elsewhere.

I likes the Rota light grey. I don't know how my ties and shirts will work with them trousers since all my ties and shirts were geared towards navy blue suits.

They are gorgeous trousers (stitchy wore them in a fit awhile ago, which prompted me to ask where he got them), and they are on sale at the moment at NMWA. Maybe a way to get your fix from Greg et al until the Formosa suits come back into stock?

PS There are no words to describe my regret at not jumping on the Fox Flannel jacket in Project Giacca.
