feel not so bad, none near me either.

question, how is the cut of the pants? are they really slim with very small hem openings?

None near me in Australia either but I just order stuff online and return it with their free shipping policy. I recently ordered two La Spalla suits (one grey and one blue) which I really liked but the jackets were just a little too tight through the hips and there was zero fabric to let it out so back they went. I'm a fairly slim guy and the pants were on the slimmer side of slim for me. The leg opening was ok but I would definitely prefer it wider so it sits on my shoe properly. You might be right if you ordered pants as separates but I think the pants that come with your normal suit size would be too slim for you.....

You didn't need to pay any customs duties or anything? Also, I'm surprised that Australia doesn't have any SS stores.

No duties and no tax for under $1,000. I'm also a little surprised there isn't even a single flagship store in the whole country. It would be nice to go in an try on everything to see what fits and to see all the fabrics up close.

They're slim in the thighs and the leg openings are around 8" for most cuts, which is why I'm switching from suitsupply towards brands with a more conservative cit. You can look at the measurements online, they're pretty accurate.

Shipping and returns are free, and customs duties are included in the price. They're shipped in one of those huge boxes on a wooden hanger, so they're wrinkle free. It's worth ordering one if you don't mind not having access to whatever you paid for it for about 14-21 days.

I think the leg opening and measurements in general on the La Spalla is close to what you find in the industry. The issue arises when people pick wrong sizes (probably based on the sales guy's recommendation) this is pretty common with taller guys (5' 11" and above) that have skinny chests ordering suits in regular sizes, then they run into problems with jacket length and the working sleeves doesn't do anybody any good for the most part when you go for Long sizes.

Here is the size chart for La spalla, it is pretty conservative. Look at the US44

When you order >$1000, SS cover the import duty.

Is it sad that I've ordered enough >$1,000 SS orders that I know this?

Stichy - you'd want to look at Havana/Lazio/Sienna for pants - ignore Napoli/Washington - no thigh allowance.

For size 40 the leg opening is 7.9", and for 42 it's 8.1" for most SuitSupply cuts. I have found out that I need at least 8.5", preferably 8.75". My Sartoria Partenopea suits are 8.75", for example.

Can you see difference in how the trousers fit? My feet look huge in the SuitSupply trousers, while I wear a UK10, which isn't that out of the ordinary.

I heard on the grapevine that SuitSupply are well on the way to opening in Orstiylia. Which city, which location, franchise vs. direct ownership I don't know.

If I were the SS guys I would be looking at Melbourne first - Smith/Gertrude St or Greville St, old terrace house slightly off the main drag; there followed by a similar strategy in Paddington or maybe Newtown (Sydney), and so on down the line.

They are very good at positioning themselves as "cool" and these would be good locations for establishing that hipster/CBD crossover cred.

The SP pants looks 1000% times better in your case.

I think SS base their smaller sizes on athletic models with skinny legs. I haven't tried any pants at SS so I don't even know how they'll fit me but leg opening from their measurements looks ok for me

Yeah, I need the trouser width of a size 46/48, but the waist of a size 40 and a jacket of a 42. It's safe to say I have literally outgrown the brand, which is a shame, as their Soho/Lazio/La Spalla cuts are very nice.
