Honestly, this Drake tie does not make a nice knot. I did a double loop 4IH and it still looks like shit. Why can't every tie create a knot like a 6 fold Sam Hober?!

9 mila, I think you're tightening up way too much. I don't think it is the thickness of the tie that is causing it.
Where's Clag when you need him. He's the Tie Knotzi.

Quote:Thats not me, its GDL. Also, the tightness around your neck has no bearing on the tightness of the knot. I was just trying to show the "half dimple." Try it man, you might like it. I have some vintage silk and wool ties that are around 2 7/8 to 3 1/4 inches wide, and they just dont dimple, but they do that^^. Sometimes I also pull the back blade to the side a little bit to give the illusion of a little more width. That doesn't look as good with stripes, but with other patterns, where they are not obviously misaligned, it does the job.

I'm guessing there's a lot more fixing and prepping involved for those precious moments of racing. That's awesome though. And what do you play (instrument and genre!)?

Come on. We all knew Butch was cool. Just these specific kinds of cool are news.

It is you, Noodles! Hahaha this is the only knot I use. I forgot how to make a half windsor because this one is very useful.

    Betel,

Trust me. When was the last time I had an issue with tie knots? It's this thin flimsy Drake tie!

I suspect that Mr. Cho is tying an 8cm Drake's tie in that video. Even so, I have to say that I find it difficult to get a good dimple with Drake's 8cm ties, and the knots are always a bit too small for me. So, I've self-imposed a policy of only getting their 9cm ties.
