It only really works, in my opinion, on the brown (Drapers?). I know that fit of Butler's was a big hit, but I didn't feel it.

If it were a suit, I wouldn't wear it as such as much. Maybe twice a year? Ain't worth 5-600 bucks. How often have I worn that nice windowpane Yount since I got it? Maybe 4-5 times. And that's a lot more countrified than a windowpane fresco. If I need to wear a suit, I will generally go solid and boring. If I don't need to wear a suit, I want to go with something that very clearly indicates that I'm wearing the suit by choice. The message, then, is obvious. And unfortunately, a fairly city windowpane sends mixed messages.

This is a very cool jacket. I don't like striped shirt with it.

^ Agree, it's awesome! Maybe it shouldn't work, since that kind of fabric is so closely associated with typical super structured hacking jackets and what not, but I'd love to have one cut like that though.

That looks a lot like my DB, except mine is brown. I'd say go for it, it'll look awesome. Make sure the lapels are wide enough.

JR if those fabrics are gray, don't do it as a SC. Go for brown. A brown PoW could be nice. Grays just aren't that versatile.

Looking at those pics, it's clear a stronger window pane is better and earthier base, the autumnal greens and brown. Even when it might be passable I feel the blue and gray bases just make you think more...this should be part if a suit.

This can be true if course for other colors, if the panes are finer. I'm ok with docs but it's on the border.

Also for first DB Suit make it navy.

Can I get some thumbs up for spending 2 hours putting up that stupid curtain in my living room?

This is a nice transition fron windowpane suits, of which I have just one left. I wud have two if Murl's didn't fit so perfextly.

Part of what I see as being problematic w/ Doc's jacket is the hard contrast ( reads like black & wht) coupled with the fine line of the pattern. It creates a kind of graph paper effect. Navy or near-navy with a wider lined rust or brown pane can be quite nice made up as a SC I think. Greg showed at least one example when polling fabrics for Formosa mto on NMWA thread.

That Samsung Galaxy suit is very nice. Structured shoulders with roping and nice looking fabric.

If the shoulder point to point were extended a touch by 0.25 inches, and jacket length was increased by 1.25 inches and buttoning point moved down 1.5 inches that would have been one hell of a suit! I think you should lengthen the sleeves, showing too much cuff but this is based on my preference, not a rule, so you can ignore.

    Living room looking good @Rudals

@jungleroller is your wardrobe ready for windowpane jackets? They are more memorable so it's better to have a lot of regular jackets before going for windowpane. My suggestion would be to look at blue herringbone. Experiment with different shades of blue and play with textures.
