Why? Some of their lasts are inelegant, though not all, and certainly more elegant than Alden. That being said, I doubt any "acceptable" brand has more ugly shoes out there than AE. It's a solid brand and you should own at least one pair. It'll give you some variety from your pointed G&G elf shoes.

What has the experience with B&T/Jason like? Timeline, etc?

Thanks. No collar gap in that shot, but IRL there is.

Joe, not Jason. Payment is up front and I don't have the funds right now. I will definitely go ahead but might have to wait a couple of months.

Just want to share this with all my good friends on the site. My wife has just been granted her temporary residency visa for Australia. (She already resides here.)

The path to citizenship is now basically a formality.

The purity of this claim has been debated

Well, alright, but the majority of the staple shoes (Park Avenue, etc) are made in the US. And I know some are made in Dominican Republic (like the ae line), but they are always marked as such. But I think almost anything over 250 dollars is made in Wisconsin or Italy.

And check out this beauty for all the baseball fans out there. Rudals, does Papa Noodle like baseball?

I like me some AE loafers, but you should note that most (if not all) uppers are stitched & assembled in DR now as well...

Yes and no - it started over a year ago in Shanghai with our application for a "prospective marriage" partner visa, which was damn expensive and took seven months to be granted.

Wedding in January, applied to convert the visa to a temporary residency visa on 1st April this year. According to the Immigration Department, this normally takes 12 to 15 months, hence my great surprise at receiving the acceptance letter today, only 11 weeks later.

Now we can get my wife a Medicare number and also enrol her for free English language classes, funded by the Australian Government. Better hurry though, Mr Abbott will probably withdraw that funding at some point in the near future.

Had to look those terms up. Nah, just a modelling pose. (She's actually not a model - paid to have these done in Shanghai. Turned out pretty well!)

You can go straight from work as a hospital orderly to the ballpark, a seamless transition.

I am looking for something that he can wear to the pulpit. And no, he's a football fan (soccer).

Cut and stitched in the DR, yes, but I'm pretty sure everything else takes place in Wisconsin.

AE's more formal designs leave a lot to be desired, but they do a great job with loafers, wingtips, shell cordovan and boots.
