JL, the trousers look really nice and are my nominal waist size. But when I compared the measurements (as per the Panta website sizing charts) with some of my own trousers, I find the thigh, knee and opening widths to be quite narrow. Do these wear narrow?

As long as you don't post links to live streaming sports you should be fine.

Cox, they are definitely slim trews, though I've never actually worn them since I essentially bought the wrong size in a moment of hubris ("I can lose that weight, no prob").

Checking measurements against the website, I come up with the following (all very close to site, except knee which is narrower than listed. It's quite possible the knee measure was changed subsequent to when these were purchased):

Waist- at or around 34", possibly a hair less
    Front rise- 10.75"
    Back rise- 16"
Thigh (measured across from the crotch)- 13"
Knee (measured 13" down from crotch)- 8 5/8"
    Leg opening- 8"

    All +/- a fraction

JL those are nice pants. Sorry they don't fit you. The brown is [IMG]

I've luckily found some RTW pants that fit me well, especially in the back line which is clean. So many RTW pants are such that I often get bunching below the seat. Is there a way to tell from measurements that pants will fit well in terms of eliminating "diapering".

Hypothesis: Simplest factor is that it's just the back rise.

I'd be curious if people here have multiple pants that fit cleanly in the back whether the back rise is the same (that would be simplest). Or alternatively, do they have pants that fit cleanly in back but have different back rise. It's probably more complicated, some function of both front and back rise, and tapering. Yes, to test this hypothesis, you'll have to measure.

I'll ask the tailors too and also report later on my trousers.

Ah, a semi-surprise. She must have good taste then, or know your taste pretty well. I do like surprises.
