1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

    I'll say this.
    Suits are not like cars.
    Suits do not have emblems.
Nobody knows what you are wearing.
So it should come down to fit, construction, fabric, and most importantly your satisfaction.
Now, let's make this thread a bit more interesting.

Out of interest, is this thread merely a Claghorn experiment in choice architecture?

The only objective conclusion we can reach is that Noodles is a brand whore. He's moved on to Formosa from Zegna, but the idea of the clothes is overwhelming the reality of them.

But if it makes him happy and doesn't lead to penury and/or divorce, I can't begrudge him this.

I WAS a brand whore. But what about now? I am buying stuff that are known here to be of good quality regardless of brand name, such as Sam Hober, Vanda, C&J, etc. I have not purchased any brand name stuff (Zegna, Brioni, Charvet, etc) from a department store for some time now. Even more, I just got three shirts that have no name value here in SF via Claghorn. You need to distinguish between a brand whore and a person who just wants the best stuff known at good value.

The reason why I am holding off for a Formosa has been beaten to death so there is no need to bring it up again. IF the Formosa is not the best fit for me, then I am definitely getting the La Spalla from Suit Supply. Most likely a light grey.

Noodles just made the name official I guess.

Here is a thought. When noodles is buying well, he can use the Rudals account. When noodles is blowing it, he is relegated to The Noodles account for a week...

Is the new account part of a plan to lower your number of posts and convince your wife you're not addicted to SF?

    So true, lol.

    Also, its the 4th, lol.

    ---

SB - what do you have against brand whores?

also, i would say that the conclusion is that people have different ways of valuating things, both as stand alone items, and comparatively. to each their own, as long as in the end of the day kops are made and we as people can justify our irrational obsession with looking good.

Let's hope this is an upgraded version of me. No more picnic attacks.

I almost blew up on a Saks Fifth SA.
Mrs. Noodles was looking for Birkenstock sandals so I went over to the Armani section to try on some suits. I really didnt want to be bothered but a SA zeroed in on me in seconds. I tried on a 40R and it was small and short. SA said Armani is coming out with slim fits. Then I tried a 42R and it still was too short. The jacket was not covering my flat arse. So I asked the SA if they had a L.

He then said, "L is for someone who is 6'3" and over."

To which I said, "Not necessarily. But a jacket is supposed to cover your seat.

Then the SA got frustrated and asked me,"Says who?!"

I just ignored him and started to walk away and he said,"Oh! You no want to buy?! You just play for fun?! You dont know suits!"

I wud have chewed him out and called his supervisor but I just left cus I was too tired to deal with such nuance.
