I love me some James Bond, and as a kid, it was one of the first things that got me into tailored menswear, trying to figure out why Sean Connery's suits looked so great but most suits I saw didn't.

That said, the Daniel Craig clothing has been utter garbage ever since they left Brioni after Casino Royale. Even that one wasn't much for inspiration, but at least it fit him. Skyfall was particularly bad.

MF, FWIW my ideal measurement in the shoulders for the longest time was roughly 17.25 seam to seam, I also have a forward shoulders problem. I took a chance on a softer shouldered jacket that measured 18" seam to seam and IMO it fits very well. I've since branched out to 17"-18" in shoulder measurement for my purchases, taking shoulder construction into account and have been pleasantly surprised. YMMV ofc.

Thanks for the reply! So the softer the shoulder the smaller you can go, or does it work the opposite way?

You know in my experience I was able to go wider. I know somebody else said narrower. I suspect softer shoulder is just generally more forgiving?

Remember that the amount of fabric in the back and sleeve shape play major factors into shoulder divots as well and those are things that are difficult to determine with standard measurements.

Monkeyface, are you in or near St. Andrews? I seem to recall a fit from a ways back set there.

DC's air is fine. Then again I live in Northern Virginia surrounded by trees, suicidal deers, and squirrels.
