P90X is okay. Its best feature is keeping an undisciplined person, disciplined.

That whole industry is a glorified scam, though. Maybe not even a glorified one ...

One last thing about working out.
I sprint. I do NOT and can NOT run/jog for long distance.
So there's a very nice park around a lake near my neighborhood that is 4.5 miles in a circle. Instead of running or jogging like most folks do, I sprint as fast as I can and then slow down and walk for like 30 seconds and then sprint like hell for 2 to 3 minutes and walk for 30 seconds. I do this for the entire 4.5 miles. Is this pretty stupid?

Did you read what JRD617 posted after seeing my horrific jacket pix? Check them out and should help.
I hate it when the shoulders fit but the lapels bow. Then when I go size up, the shoulders divot. ($#)@(#*$)@(*

P90X is far from a scam of course not everybody will get the same results but when you look at all the workouts in the program, it is worth every penny.

@Noodles I was also a 38-40R when I got married, now I am pushing 42-44R. Kept my wedding suit for giggles...Hehehe

You can sprint for 2-3 min? [IMG] I burn out after like 1, lol. I sprinted in high school and prefer it, I suggest if you prefer sprinting you run hills or do some shuttle runs or something.

You are unknowingly performing HIIT (high intensity interval training). It is one of he more proven ways to increase fat loss (albeit minimally). The fact you sprint all out for 2-3 minutes and then walk for 30 seconds until you regain composure means you sure are conditioned, it's a hyperbole, or you indeed are not pushing yourself 100% during the sprints. Read up on HIIT if that interests you.

I love the feeling when I sprint. It's like going into Star Wars warp...whatever they call it in the movies.

I'll let someone with more sports science knowledge chip in, but my more bog-standard physiology knowledge suggests that your pattern of exercise will likely encourage fast-twitch muscle rather than slow-twitch. In other words, my guess is that you're just cementing your anaerobic sprinting pattern. I also wonder whether your aerobic fitness generally is fairly poor. If you want to be able to run long distance, you need to start running at a slow pace (but above walking speed) rather than sprinting and stopping. If a slow run is too much, then fast walk longer distances until you can build up endurance. Again, I defer to those with true sports science training; general medical knowledge doesn't delve into the details of the pros & cons of exercise techniques much at all.

However a blend of running and walking is a way of covering large distances quickly without getting exhausted. IIRC, in the day of armies marching around the countryside, some skirmishing troops used an alternating pattern of 3 paces running and 3 paces walking to increase their maneouverability on the battlefield.

It's called interval training and is actually better for you than jogging.

    STOP IT~
I want to stay at 38R/40R.
    Am I really doomed?!
    Oh boy.

The thing that drives me nuts is that she's 170cm and is super skinny. Like she wears 0 dress sizes and wears like size 26 for jeans.
