I agree with both parts of this post. I walk a considerable amount and never find any of my dress shoes uncomfortable, and if I did I would get different ones. For foul weather I have shoes that are built for the purpose (e.g. Tetbury's).

Agreed. I walk all day long in dress shoes, including several 30 minute walks, and don't find it uncomfortable at all. The only downside is that your soles deteriorate very fast. I have a rotation of about 5-6 shoes, and find I have to resole all my shoes at least yearly (if not more often), which can get pretty expensive.

Have you considered having a rubber out sole (Topy) installed?

I always thought having a topy could cause issues later on, because of moisture retention or something like that. I might just give it a try on one pair to see what happens.

Would a topy last longer than for example a dainite sole? I have a pair of dainite shoes that I had to replace the heels of twice and finally resole after about 9 months of owning them.

I asked the photographer twice if the feet are going to show and he said negative only to see this. But we had a good laugh at it. LOL

    Without them sneakers.

(I don't know why the photographer made me button the bottom button on the jacket)

I don't know why you didn't tell him to stick it!

Looking like a new doodlals signature pose though :nodding:

I topy all my shoes with Vibram soles. I have yet to replace the topy on shoes that I purchased over a year ago and wear 2-3x a week. I'm not sure about the moisture aspect. They seem pretty well sealed to me.

Ugh, I wanted to tell him that it shouldn't be buttoned but I just let it go.
But I agree that it should be my signature pose minus the bottom button...buttoned.

I'd just wear beaters if I was concerned about hurting my shoes during my commute. Because why wouldnt you?

I can't believe you listened to him. Photographers have some weird power. He probably told you to do that so your belt wouldn't show.

What is the overall opinion on string loafers? I have a hard time getting behind tasseks from some reason, and I have plenty of pennies already. I was thinking about these from Meermin:
