These two would be a great next step.
Hober? The red is too red for me, go darker (burgundy). Brown over the blue (but maybe because I don't like bright reds...but that's a personal preference). Brown with sky blue dots is something one should have in their collection at some point for sure.
All these ties need to be darker IMO.
No, tie bar. I'm cheap with ties. It really is hard for me to spend more than $50 on a tie and the two Wu ties I have are the more expensive ties I've bought myself. My ex used to work and Neiman Marcus and I have a bunch of expensive ties, unfortunately none that I like. /CSB
Neiman Marcus now carries really really appalling ties. SF members will surely be appalled. Plus why pay $250 for a freaking tie? Says me who used to shop there when I didn't know any better.
The brown one is
I never did but my ex worked there and filled my closet with pretty ugly gucci, charvet, and brioni ties that are pretty horrendous. I can't believe I ever actually wore them. She was a brand whore and well... ah nevermind
Ugh...I hate them women.
You're not supposed to say that, Mr. blowing engagement savings.
She's already chastised me for buying a $40 neck tie!
Speaking of which, @in stitches , like I said, I told her to try on different rings and figure out what the heck she wants. I didn't forget.
I'm starting to think you enjoy chastisement.
Is that their “Grenafaux”? If so, yes, they describe it as “burgundy” on their website (and it was on that basis that I bought one) but it’s pretty close to red. I wear mine around the Christmas holidays on occasion, but that’s about all. As you said, one can't complain about the price.
Radials, that's an excellent, excellent selection.
JR, as someone else said, all those ties should be darker. And you are much better off getting two Hobers than you are 5 from Tie Bar. Much, much, much better off. This is especially true for staples. As you get older/advance in your career, you'll have more money to spend on ties. If all of your staples ties are cheap, by the time you have money, you'll be buying ties with a bit more limited use as you've got your staples covered. You'll have a nifty rust orange neat from Panta you wear twice a month, and a brown grenafaux from Tie Bar you wear on a weekly basis.
Separate names with a comma.
