What speaks against the Drakes (the top?) is more the pattern, dots with herringbone IMHO. I think the bottom would go better for pattern, color and matte (dryness).

I think I like the bottom, the PS doesn't get as lost against the jacket. I like the fabric!

Question: if the Rubinacci was made in a silk/wool mix, same pattern, would you prefer that over the silk version?

I have some of the Drakes wool/silk guys that I enjoy. But I like having the all silk too. Which one I wear just depends on my mood I guess.

Excellent news! Mrs. Claghorn has granted me permission to get another suit (though I'm opting for a jacket) from B&Tailor! The question is: what should I get? I know it'll be either navy or something in between navy and midblue. I'm alright with patterns as all but one of my blue jackets are solid.

I'll post close ups of the jackets I have and hopefully you folks will provide me with sone direction into what sort of fabric I should get this made up in.

You're definitely a poster hubby (sneaking out of the door regularly or not aside).
In comparison to me, for sure.

You said you'll be leaving SK for good in August? End of assignment, new job? Exciting, I guess.
I've been moving for the job every 3-4 years on average, internationally, let's not talk about the time span involved, though.

Ugh...I am still at odds with my wife-to-be about getting some rtw suit from Korea. I do not want one from Korea. And I won't be able to go to B&Tailors since I won't have time and cannot visit again anytime soon.

Clags, how about a brown suit. A nice brown colored suit.

And here's another of my personal bespoke tie. I have done all 7 folds old unlined and all hemmed by hand. Then I love this silk because it is very light. In fact I do not even seem to have it in the neck. It is always a vintage silk still hand-printed many years ago.

The picture quality is not the best because I made it with the phone.

    Clags,
Maybe your wife can educate my wife on how to let your hubbie buy quality suits?!
