Soon-to-be-wife saw this picture and said that the pants need tapering because there's too much room and it's a tad bit long. Bummer.
Luckily, Field Tailors will have it done before I leave for the wedding since this is the SUIT that I'll be wearing.
    Any objections?

They might be like a quarter inch long but IMO that's being pretty nitpicky. I don't think they need any taper. YMMV. Sorry having trouble spoilering on mobile.

It could be brought in above the knees, but below, I'd leave it right where it is. In terms of length, it seems acceptable. I dislike this floating above the shoe thing the young folks are doing these days, what with their hipping and their hopping and their bipping and their bopping. Still, if you do raise it, don't raise it much.

And finally...this is important...just because she is a woman doesn't mean she knows more about clothes than you. Even if she's a very fashionable woman. Menswear and Womenswear are two very, very different animals. Women will push you towards trends as their market dictates they do this. Clothing made for women isn't made to be worn more than 2 or 3 years, so they don't have that mindset. To them, there is no cost in following trends as the clothes won't be in rotation long enough for it to look dated.

I've had a few female coworkers give me some pretty poor advice (skinnier ties, shorter jackets, etc) and assume I'd listen to them because they were women. Mrs. C just gives me advice, occasionally, on color as well as providing general aesthetic feedback, and I try to return the favor.

oh no! She said she's going to starting picking out shirts and ties for me to wear every day! [IMG]

Like you said, Clags, taper(?) above the knees but I want no breaks so I want to shorten the length by just a little.

I guess I should take her future advices with discretion.

I am already seeing that weird thing that they're doing to their pants already in DC. It's supposed to be some new fad this spring/summer. I am going to cringe every time I see them.

I am driving to his shop now. I'll get his take. Also taking the Cappelli tie. Too wide.

I think, Noodles, that that suit of yours could be benefited from a longer jacket, your hips look a bit wide, but I remember you already bought a long suit, so no problem. :D

That effect is what causes the short jacket, not that you actually have wide hips.

Every time I go into see Will, I come out astonished. I will do my full review but for now I need to figure out my ring size. Just realized that I also need a wedding band. Field Tailors is awesome. I am impressed again.

    The Visit:
So my first problem was with this pants.

The problem was that I didn't have enough fat in my buttocks to pull or push against the pants. Because I have a flat buttocks the back of the trouser just fell flat. This created crease upon crease upon crease as you can see from the picture. Basically, it will be fixed by lifting everything up. Will was very informative and explained the problem very well. My last tailor (that !@#$%&%##) just said that I look good and turned me away.

Second, problem: The tie that looked funny.
I complained from the beginning that this tie is just too wide for me. Boy was I embarrassed. It was a very quick fix with some education.
Basically, this tie looked awesome with a full windsor knot. The reason why it looked so funny was that the material was just so fine that it didn't have enough to form a nice knot with 4IH. When done with a full Windsor knot, this tie looked freaking awesome. I really appreciated that Will actually spent the time to show me how to tie a Windsor and educate me.

I am really understanding why buy stuff off the rack isn't the best option when you're paying $3k and it doesn't fit you properly. I am going bespoke.

For those in the DC region, I strongly recommend Field Tailoring in Georgetown. A+
