an excellent post, clags. though i wish waste and disaster could be avoided, i think that is just part of the process. we can all prepare as best as possible, and attempt to begin building with versatile staples and things that we think we will like and use, but for the most part, its a journey in self discovery. as we buy and try new things, we realize that perhaps a certain item we thought we needed did not jive with our personal mojo. or perhaps the navy blazer we thought would be just right, was for one reason or another, the wrong navy blazer. we may have thought we would love a certain type or color suit, to find out we end up rarely wearing it. over time, as we try new things and try new looks, we discover what we like and what looks best on us, as at times, things we may love, may not be right for our body/complexion/whatever. and as the days and years progress, our tastes and styles evolve as well. eventually, once we have our style understood as best as we can, at that point i think a great and very personal wardrobe beings to take shape and we suddenly realize we have got somewhere good.
