Absolutely. That, I think, is the best. But when it's ALL of the flowers... Still, come to think of it, my green HC neat has blue flowers and looked fine with a blue shirt.

Don't know if this helps you Noodles but I was recently taking inventory of ties after completing almost a full purge and redo of my tie wardrobe over the past 5 years. This is definitely not the most complete collection but I thought it might be helpful for you to see what I have found to be a very useful and well rounded (and not overly large) tie wardrobe.

For context, I am a lawyer and wear a jacket and tie everyday. Some days very CBD for meetings and court, but I can also wear patterned sportcoats when not meeting with clients, so there are probably more textured ties then you can incorporate. I tend to dress seasonally as well. For suits I have 3 navy (sharkskin, flannel, subtle blue on blue glenplaid) 3 grey (flannel, birdseye and light grey glenplaid) and a khaki cotton summer suit. I wear a navy blazer often and have 2 or 3 patterned sportcoats for fall/winter and spring/summer (mostly in blue and brown tones).

Hope you find this helpful, and I agree with everyone else here - chill out and enjoy your ties. :D

Thanks for the compliments guys. The point was not to solicit compliments (although they are appreciated), but to give you some ideas of what I beleive a well-rounded and useful ties wardrobe can look like. Hope you find it helpful in your quest.

Yes, I appreciate it. I have a long way to go. I am very glad to have found this forum as it has very helpful people. If I didn't know about SF, I'd probably be shopping at department stores paying full prices on brand name ties that don't mesh with my outfit and wearing shirts with dwarf collars.

it is quite well rounded indeed. solids, dots, neats, paisleys, stripes, plaids, different colors and seasons. a proper collection indeed.

Again, thanks for posting here, jrd. Alas, nothing left addresses gaps that I need to fill first. The brown grenadine is tempting, but have something very much like that.

Assuming the 2nd-from-left is chocolate brown and the 2nd-from-right is largely black/charcoal, I think you'd find the middle 4 quite useful given your suit preferences.

Hell, I'd like the 4th & 5th ones; they're great. If I hadn't just bought a bunch of ties from Drakes earlier today, I'd look up jrd's sales thread & consider putting in an offer for them!
