Would this work w/ jacket and tie, or strictly cas? Was initially thinking of pairing w/ denim, but wondering about other possibilities.

wait...when do i become not Asian?
I mean, you don't go up to an African American person and call them Africans, do you?
Gosh darn it, I have been in the States for about 25 years but I am still asked where I am from.
    "Freaking U.S.A.?!"
No, where are you really from?
    "U.S.A."

    PS
I am not venting @Conrad but I am just saying. [IMG]

Really? From the distance, they look solid, up close they resolve into a subtle pattern...really nice and subtle IMO. Micro checks are nice or small scale gingham (with larger scale, there's always the chance you'll look like a picnic table...).

Stitchy, can't the Asian man have something for himself without everyone horning in on it?

Depends on the weave, but it looks like it may be casual. Pocket puts it over the edge, at least as far as how it was intended to be worn. I could imagine it working in a chinos, unstructured blazer, knit tie context though.

I don't dislike pockets on button downs. I don't own any, but I don't mind them. Wouldn't wear it with a suit or even most odd jackets though.

My dad has always worn them. Easy place to put his pens.

My impression is that most RTW dress shirts come with a pocket.

I don't know about most, but certainly the BDCs that I can find do.

    I don't think I've ever ordered a custom shirt with a pocket though. In fact, I'm sure I haven't.

as evidenced above, you are wrong.

yes. no one can take his steez.

    ---

i dont think a pocket has ever lead me not to buy a shirt that i otherwise really liked except maybe on an all white formal dress shirt.

Really? The only dress shirts I bought in the US were from Banana Republic or Brooks Brothers in college. Guess I sort of thought that was just a BR/BB thing. Guess I thought wrong.

But that explains your response (I had no idea where you were coming from).
