I really want to ditch this CBD look but I am stuck in a suit. So why not do something crazy on a Friday. I might stop by H&M or Express (yeah, you heard right) and buy a loud FU shirt like that.
Johnston & Murphy at Union Station actually had some.

Please don't wear a gingham shirt with a CBD suit/tie. You don't need loud items to stand out, there are plenty of ways to look interesting within the bounds of CBD. Start looking at textures instead of patterns.

H&M really doesn't have anything you need. Their suits are poly and have wimpy lapels, and their shirts have the tiniest collars, definitely not suitable for wearing a tie.

Now stop messing about and head over to suitsupply.

Different kind of gingham. Look at the scale and colors of the pattern.

Oh good. I was wondering who had copied the BB collar, but did not remember.

Call me nuts but I might try to wear a full navy blue suit with one of these shirts. [IMG]

Some might work, some might make you look like you're still in high school wearing your first suit, but trying to be edgy, because 'suits suck'. I'm all for experimenting to see what works, but you should embrace CBD and try to excel within its constraints, instead of rebel against it.

Start with that awesome Kamakura roll (see Luv2B's pics of it a few pages back); go with a smaller scale check (you might have to have one made with that roll).

Where's this sudden urge coming from? Don't go GQ on us.

It just started when I kept on seeing this along with me kind of getting bored with my CBD.

    ^ That is atrocious.

Needs to be smaller scale, and preferably limited to two colors (white and something else)

Many outfits that are total disasters result from some sort of angst and boredom and desire to deliberately try something bold. Keep focusing on nailing CBD for now and expand in subtle ways once you've mastered the fundamentals.

I only wanted to just experiment, but I am in agreement with you all. I thought I had reached a decent level with CBD but I sure do have room to improve upon.
So I'll keep at it with patterned shirts and maybe get some interesting pocket squares.
