Yea, that second one is what made me interested in shantung to begin with. You guys all make good points. I can be patient and these aren't staples. Need to keep searching for a navy jacket and keep purging for now. Glad to score those knits, I hope they are the "crunchy" silk kind as those are my favorites. Thanks for the heads up Clags, even though it wasn't directed at me.

Check out Mountain & Sackett. Made in New York. Great ties at a very good price.

    As far as shantung/mogador:

    Clagster,

I feel like I've hit a wall and I think it is primarily due to my limited supply in my wardrobe. Knowing what you know about what I have, should I start getting some new shirts and ties very slowly? Suits will be out of my budget. Shoes, I see as not my priority. Thoughts?

    i like!
im no clags, but if you want to stock up on excellent shirts at an affordable price, go to the kamakura website. i have 4 and i love them all. HIGHLY recommended. maybe take a little break on ties, you just got a good bunch. i found that with ties (and most things) its best not to force it. just keep your eyes peeled, and as you come across good offerings, slowly add to the collection.

I just ordered a kamakura, and if they fit me well I'm pretty sure I'm gonna make them my go to. Why not order 1, Rudals? See how you like it and then you can go forward from there. Stiches, do you know if they keep restocking regularly? Nearly all the ones I wanted were sold out in my size.

regarding size, they have 4 different cuts, and each cut has specific sizes available, so it may take a bit to figure out which shirt is for you, but with a little investigation it can be done.

i think they restock pretty regularly and you can always call the store on madison ave and see if they have it. if they do they will ship for $7 and you get it quicker than from japan.

OMG huge tip. The one I bought was $21 shipping from Japan! You live and learn I suppose, thanks for the heads up. If the one I purchased fits well, I will definitely be ordering more.

I've been looking (/drooling) at Kamakura since last night - didn't they just come up on WAYWRN? - and on the fence about ordering. The sizes are a little strange and I'm worried that unpredictable shrinkage may throw them off even more. Before I read all 36 pages on the Kamakura thread looking for clues, can you tell me real quick whether I need to order up a half size to account for oxford cloth shrinkage (as with BB), and if so will I need to do the same on pinpoint oxford or only for regular?
