No carbs and/or food after 6pm is hogwash. However, if that is what gets you to consume less calories, so be it. Calories in, calories out. Eat less, exercise more, or a combination thereof. It is that straightforward. However, the #1 requirement is consistency, a foreign concept to many.

If you are worried about thunder thighs, I would not recommend SS (personal experience), but it would not hurt to stop into store and try a pair.

I promise you, this thread helps people. In addition to people who post in the thread and those who have messaged me (and I'm sure messaged a few others) asking for individualized help, I've at least gotten a few messages just thanking me for the information in the thread or telling me that this thread has been very useful.

Thanks to the recent conversation in this thread, I have a new urge to find a Brown SC of some variety. I have a lighter tan/khaki jacket in a more casual cut, which I thought would be pretty versatile, but have only worn it a few times. From what has been discussed, I may be better served with a nice brown instead.

I like light navy/mid blue more than navy. But I am a little odd when it comes to blue jackets (as in, show me a rack of blue jackets, as me which I want, and I'll answer "yes").

A darker brown is more versatile than a light brown. Also easier to use. @TexJake , check out this suit from Suit Supply

The biggest issue with this suit is that the jacket's fabric is so casual it might limit you on pants options. I'd struggle to see the jacket looking good with most worsted grays (though worsted tans would probably look alright). Still, as long as the pants have texture, it won't be an issue.

The big pluses here are: the jacket is very casual and can easily be worn independently of the pants. The pants are light enough a brown to easily be worn independently of the jacket (especially with the khaki colored jacket you mentioned earlier. Plus you've got nice sized lapels and patch pockets (both personal preferences)

On a broader note, we talk about versatility a lot in this thread, and someone pointed out that the right shade of gray jacket is very versatile. And I agree. But I think we also need to distinguish between versatility and ease of use. Is the right shade of gray jacket versatile? Yes. Is it easy to use? Probably not.

I don't know about your budget, but if I'm ever getting a brown SC it'll be this Harrison's Moonbeam fabric. If you'll go ready to wear I'm sure you'll be able to find something similar with some luck.

That is lovely. One of the things I've noticed: I find subtle windowpanes easier to work with in terms of pocket squares than louder windowpanes. And by "loud" I mean standing out starkly against the fabric of the jacket. I think that, when the windowpanes aren't much ligher/darker than the jacket, when you stick the pocket square in, you don't quite get the same sense of disruption.

@Claghorn , is that the Hudson from SS? I do like that... Im looking on their site, don't know if its just the way the image looks here, but their plain brown Hudson looks less variegated than that image comes across.

That Moonbeam from Harrisons is awesome. That will be a ways down the road for me, but so nice.
