1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

Mutatis Mutandis sounds like the long lost member of Gwar.

Not even sure how many people will get that reference, but it's awesome.

The former corporate lawyer in me enjoys the use of "mutatis mutandis."

Only a bunch of serious nerds would get all excited about a little Latin.

I'll wear linen at any time except for the two months of the year when it is cold enough to wear tweed, during which I wear tweed.

Took Latin in high school. Have a Latin tattoo. I still think etymology is interesting. For those interested, "Latin Alive" is a fun, light airplane read.

I think the serious nerd part is established by all of us talking about menswear on an internet forum on a regular basis. I'm not sure if getting excited over Latin exacerbates this or is just part for the course / to be expected.

And if you've ever been to a meetup, you'll be met with (and potentially comforted by) the confirmation that we are all, indeed, real-life nerds too.

I'm a nerd. I became a much bigger nerd after graduating from undergrad. Now part of me feels I squandered a number of opportunities. But I have the rest of my life to make up for it.

Something I learned from that article: GWU has a LOT of grad students.

Since we are having a discussion about re-branding the Grad Lounge, let me make a concrete suggestion.

I was thinking it was to be different from this thread, GNAT, where active CM members come in to ask for concrete advice (e.g. Claghorn's recent question about that Isaia tie), banter about weight lifting, etc.

MC General Chat which seems to bring in many of the old hands to talk about similar stuff (though Sander seems to be nerding it out a little).

And the Grad Lounge which I hoped to be a bit more theoretical and really a place to nerd out on matters CM.

How about something innocuous like CM: Further Ideas/Chat/Thoughts

Introduced in revised first post as: A thread for additional discussion about all matters CM. Full Stop.

If the grad lounge is supposed to be theoretical call it just that. CM Theory. No subtext needed.

Remove grad from the title and it's good. The Lounge

No need to geekify the title

I agree with those dudes up there ^ And if you want it to be longer, here are a few I thought up.

CM Theory: A Discussion of Details
CM Theory: To Put Too Fine a Point On It
CM Theory: Making Science Out of Opinions
