Don't know much about Tom Ford suits but I nearly fainted when I was trying to button up after putting on a jacket.
I don't know anyone who would've had the narrow waist to wear that jacket properly.

I like Isaia's construction but this was a $4,000 mistake that was fixed thanks to NM's generosity.
I believe a lot of people commented on the way the shoulders didn't work on my shoulders/
Plus it was like Super 160 or something so it was mad shiny and wrinkle magnet.

Noodles, I believe he's talking about the jacket collar's not hugging the back of the neck.

jrd, do you have 9 Isaia suits which came without the pin?

Collar gap means the gap between the collar of the suit and the shirt, it has nothing to do with the shirt collar. It can usually be fixed by taking in the suit collar, so the fact that they haven't done that for a movie where suits play quite an important role is pretty bad.

I don't think this James Bond would be happy to see how his suits are now...

Admittedly, Bond was supposed to be dead at the beginning of the film, so probably had to wear 008s crappy Tom Fords since they gave away all his well fitting Isaias.

Nice JRD! The midnight looks black (have been wondering whether they are blue in normal light).

I'm curious where the grenadine silks were sourced for Cappelli and for Hober as I understand there to be two sources for grenadines though Hober points out that there will be variation batch to batch (you're comparing the two large weaves I think). Is one mill's output softer on average than the other's?

    We're talking 200 for the bespoke Cappeli's (6 fold?) versus 120 for a 6 fold Hober?

I don't know for sure where they got the silk, but the Cappelli seems softer to me.

$135 for a bespoke cappelli 3 fold. All my ties are three fold

Now that I've had experience with both Cappelli and Hober, I have to say I will take Hober 10 out of 10 times.
Hober make better knots and have solid construction.
    Cappelli is inconsistent.

That's not as "bad" price wise as I thought, though an 80 Hober grenadine four fold seems to make more sense to me (though again, that's 40 espressos to give up!).

I'm not in a position to compare Cappelli to Hober as I don't own the latter. Though the Hobers I've seen look fantastic. ^

I am however able to compare the Cappelli (80euros) to Drakes (GB£95 or 115) and both are of the highest quality. There are differences, of course, given. Though I am delighted with them all.

The Cappellis I have (3) all tie superbly without fail and I will return to purchase more. Another key factor for me is that the quality of tie provided by E & G Cappelli is matched by a splendid customer service. Makes the deal for me.

    2 cents....

What the heck makes Cappeli incosistent?!! You've only owned one of their ties. By definition, they can't be "inconsistent"! You have no other Cappellis ties to compare them too? Am I missing something here? :D

I have read that he is not that big. I don't remembered where I read that. I think he used a 42 suit. So you are good with the 40. Just bring up the ab game. [IMG]

    Sorry,
I actually experienced a really terrible customer service with Cappelli.
Hober was on top of my orders from the moment I placed the order.
I will never order from Cappelli again.
