Based on this, it's an understandable impression. I believe Noodles was justifiably TO'ed for a while.

The "legal recourse" thing aside--and I don't believe Noodles meant it as any sort of threat, as at this point he isn't trying to get anything out of NMWA, so yes, that requires a tremendous amount of obliviousness, but, well, Noodles--what Noodles has actually directly said and has actually done has been plenty reasonable.

As I mentioned earlier, Greg asked that he remove "Formosa" from his posts because he doesn't want negative information coming up when people Google the brand (I don't think this is really an issue). Noodles obliged. It sucks that Greg had to go deal with a chargeback earlier, but Noodles made sure he was paid in the end. Noodles trusted that the banks and businesses would do their thing to sort of the misunderstanding, and Greg trusted that Noodles would go to the bank to sort this out. I think both of these are reasonable expectations. And then today, upon realizing that the jacket was mislabeled, Noodles was venting and not asking for a refund or an exchange; he understands that post alteration and post wearing, he has no reason to expect nor cause to demand such a thing.

Greg, for his part, has also been pretty reasonable up until his last post here--clearly posted out of frustration that this issue won't go away. He has, I think, admitted to the fact that Formosa mislabeled a suit and has or is in the process of talking to them about it. When he thought it was just an issue with the shoulders, he offered to pay for the tailoring costs.

I think that covers everything. So. Moving on, shaking hands, etc etc etc?

Hard to shake hands when it keeps getting brought up, and apparently there is more happening than is out in the public

Checking out of this thread until some sort of resolution gets reached. I'm not one for reading people's personal matters.

Good luck to both sides finally putting it to rest, if possible.

How am I being unreasonable? Times and times again, I've said that I'm happy to exchange and even refund articles that people are not happy with. But they need to be in sellable condition - is this unreasonable to refuse to take back a jacket that was tailored and worn? If you get a pair of shoes that are labeled 44, try them on, they feel tight, they don't feel like the 44 you used to. What do you do? Do you call the store and ask for an exchange or do you have a Topy put on them, walk a few weeks in it, and then demand an exchange for a new pair and threaten legal action?

If it was anyone else, we would chew the guy up and tell him that he kinda screwed up. But Noodles for some reason gets a pass - he's kinda cute and the mascot so people think it's normal behavior.

Regarding the chargeback, Claghorn have you ever received a chargeback notice? We have received a grand total of 3 in two years of operations and over 2000 orders. Three. Two of them were actual identity theft and objects of a scam. Third one was Noodles. The chargeback notice stated that cardholder does not recognize the charge and contested the charge. Ok, first thing I did was email Noodles and ask him what's going on. He told me he never requested the chargeback and that he would get it fixed/reversed. Whether that was one or two lies is up to you to decide (but it sounds like you think he tells the truth). for weeks, I heard excuses about not being to talk to te righ person at the bank, that it was going to be taken care of... Until it was too late for me to officially contest the chargeback. So I told him that since he got his money back, we should charge his card again. I'm an understanding guy. He tells me that despite receiving the full chargeback, he doesn't have the fund to pay me. I'm an understanding guy - I offer to take payment in three installments, wen he feels like it. That's for a suit he'd been wearing all season... A few hours after telling me he doesn't have $ to pay, he pays all three installments. Great! I'm overlooking the previous lies as I'm happy that this is finally paid.

A constant stream of lies and deceit. Now, after having offered to pay for any alterations that will make his suit better for him (the only hong I can do now that it is altered and worn), he tells me that won't work and demands a new jacket or legal action.

I've gone above and beyond to be understanding in both situations but I'm met with this bullying that everyone here seems to be OKAY with. Why the free pass? This is not acceptable behavior - it needs to clearly and loudly said.

Everyone here knows these posts are not My style. I don't think it's okay to have this stand as is and tarnish our reputation as well as the reputation of the good folks at Sartoria Formosa - so I have to respond. The nonsense and lies need to be addressed by me then - cause no one else will.

I said you were reasonable. And I don't think anyone here, Noodles included, is saying that he should get a refund or a new jacket. Not after alterations and wearing.

Regarding the chargeback: you have more information than I do. But appears you handled it as well as can be expected. I do know, however, that chargebacks can and have been initiated without the cardholders' direct involvement. I don't know why everything went down the way it did on his end--his odd behavior and the funds--but yes, I believe that he didn't request the chargeback.

Speaking for myself only, my silence is based on the fact this thread is supposed to be a sanctuary from this kind of stuff. I'm neither endorsing nor criticizing Noodles because I just want this nonsense to end. I suspect others may be remaining silent for similar reasons.

Agreed. Any objections to me removing any further discussion? I think all that can be said has been said. It's sad, but I doubt the involved parties will see eye to eye.

You said I was reasonable until my last post

And you seem to have missed the part where this is precisely what Noodles requested. That I send him a new jacket. Otherwise he would take legal action. This is why I'm mad.

A small aside, the endearing noodles thing is perhaps more obnoxious than the Alden thread's nephew/uncle thing.

There are other members who are held to much higher esteem which I, and others, find extremely obnoxious. For some reason they are loved across the forum and if someone dare say anything negative about them, other members run to their aide and the person is silenced immediately.

Then again, who cares what I'm saying, it took me 6 years to finally reach 300 posts on StyFo. (Yay for my 300th post!)

Indeed. I read a lot of stuff here that doesn't belong in a public forum.

    A small aside for you:

We don't cast stones in this thread or pile on in public lynchings. If this passes for endearment in your eyes, so be it.

While this thread is named for Noodles, it lives and breathes not because of Noodles but because of the collection of good natured mentors that have formed a community here. This is why I and others come back. Don't mistake the good natured community vibe for adulation of one individual.

I certainly read this thread religiously because it houses my favorite posters on styleforum.

I just find the noodles aspect tiring. The good natured advice makes it an excellent and informative thread.

My bad. I thought it was appropriate to discuss my vasectomy when you asked how things were going. Was that wrong?
