Ok, revised shoe list updated for 6 pairs. Pretty much everything mimo recommended plus 2 more in suede. The two I added are both Meemin.

What does everyone think about this as my final total?

These are not so great looking. Find a different pair of captoes

I wouldn't do suede gunboats. An oxford captoe would be very versatile. The dressier cut but more casual material allows you to dress it up and down.

I like the list. I'd only do one pair of suede shoes but that's a minor quibble and we don't all need to have the same top 6 shoe list. If you drop one pair of suede shoes, I'd consider replacing it with something in a tan color. The thread jrd617 linked to is good reading too.

Stevent: I work in a CBD work environment and wear brown captoes with suits significantly more than black.

Luv, I go with others here in that I'd choose a different #1 Suede loafer with dainite? Not for me. Suede guns, neither, for reasons we talked about last night. Do you need loafers as well as DMs? Again, personal preference is all but I'd consider again. Today espresso suede Hallam, works always, today with a suit. Just saying [IMG] [IMG]

Ok, ditching the black captoes. I can look around for a better version later.

I like the suede loafers, but I agree on the dainite sole. They're out. Suede gunboats out as well.

Here's my difficulty with suede bals:

I think they look really sharp, but I feel like everything they do is already covered. Dark brown suede bal seems pretty formal and would probably replace my dark brown semi-brogue? Cleav's wearing his with a suit.

Snuff suede bals look great, but what do they do that my double monk doesn't? In fact, can I even wear Snuff suede bals with tweed and flannel? How about with my chinos and cotton navy jacket? They almost feel like they don't know what they are supposed to be to me. Again, I personally love their look and think they look great, but I just want to avoid having shoes that don't work with what I've got.

This is partially why I am leaning toward bluchers so much. They just seem like they hit my wardrobe so much better (I realize my wardrobe still needs much revision). With all the recommendations, I frequently keep asking myself: "How many bals to you really need?" I just feel like 4 bals in a 6 shoe collection is not right for me, I am happy to be told I am incorrect.

    So I am currently here:

    Loake Black Captoes
Meermin Dark Brown Semi Brogues/Dark Brown Suede Bals? Room for both?
    HW Cognac Pebble Grain Bluchers
    AL Burgundy Double Monk

Squares purged. These are the ones I am keeping. What else needs to go? Let's wait on what needs to be kopped until after we straighten out the shoe situation.

    No Suit Supply Today.
Also, how come no one mentioned Brooks' Bros?
I think designers like Zegna, etc have been changing styles of their suits while BB has remained...oh maybe not.
Enough on that and last on the belt. I got this belt as a gift and the leather is really nice but the buckle, as you can see, is very obnoxious and in your face and not CBD.
    What y'all think?
