That is the exact shade of grey I am suggesting. Awesome. Remind me where the tie is from, 6...?

I think sharkskin needs a good re-branding to "pick and pick". Sort of like patagonian tooth fish.

Fabric is Dugdale (DP 3517), for anyone interested. It's a pretty light grey, but I'm happy with it. (It's somewhat similar to LL Mistral, which I know because Edwin and Matthew DeBoise had a jacket made up with the Mistral when they were tweaking the suit. They brought out the jacket for comparison.)

    The tie is Cappelli.

Somewhat rhetorical for the thread: Do you have things in your closet that annoy you, but then you forget why they annoy you until you wear them again. And then you put them on an think, "I really don't like X," but you're stuck. Happened to me this morning with a shirt collar. [IMG]

Six, you and your damn awesome fits...you use Steed?

Sorry about the shirt collar. Have a few myself that I don't put on anymore which is silly. Only way to get rid of them properly is to wear them out. My problem is that they are too short on the neck for my current tastes.

    Steed MTM, yes. And thanks!

In this case, the collar points are just a little bit short, so they don't always stay under my lapels. I should just send the shirt off to Spoo and replace, but I wash it, put it back in my closet, and forget about the collar until I put it on again. These posts might be a subconscious attempt at forcing myself to remember.

Yes. Happens to me once a month at least. Happened the other day. My wife says this is evidence that I need to do some serious closet cleaning.

Jumping on the Conrad Wu sale. This tie strikes me as the "think about it in an outfit" advice that sage senior members pass along in this thread. Seems like it really only works with a a white shirt, which to my mind limits its potential:

I am hoping the green grenadine is fairly dark. It wont get much play from me if it isn't. also those two greens seem potentially duplicative, especially since I have this olive that is one of my favorites at the moment,

    Thoughts?

WtL, I'm considering all of those ties as well. I don't think you can go wrong with any of them.

WtL: do you wear lots of gray suits? If so, that blue would be first on my list. If not, it would be towards the bottom (unless you are working with a 50 tie wardrobe already). Wear with a white shirt or a white shirt with blue pencil stripes.

That brown would be first, because, well, I'm me. I'd follow that with the green neat, which I don't think steps on the toes of your olive. I have a green grenadine in that shade and I'm not happy with it, for whatever reason. I don't think the weave agrees with the color.

    Murl,

Thanks for responding. How would you wear the mid-blue neat? Am I wrong to think it must be on a white shirt background? Feels like the others have a lot more range. Someone on SF has that green twill schappe #2, I can't remember how they liked it.
