Good Natured Advice Thread (improving a business wardrobe)

    If they are proper dress boots, then no one will be able to tell you're wearing boots (unless you're sitting down).

    I also have no problem with chelsea's provided the occasion doesn't call for something CBD.

    Because you're wearing boots, that sort of uses up all your allowance for casual in a business setting. So that means leather soles (weather allowing), closed lacing (like an oxford as opposed to a blucher) and overall conservative design. Open lacing is probably fine if the quality is there to compensate

    I’m a big fan of Chelsea boots.

    As far as I’m concerned the plainer the better, however. No brogueing, no medallion, nothing. The attraction of the boot lies in its sleekness, and extra decoration detracts from that for me. (Just my personal preference, not a statement of principle.)

    (I talking about this in the context raised by the earlier question: namely, wearing boots with a suit).
