I have 2 ties from Conrad Wu and I have been pretty happy with them. One shautung that I have is worn a lot but it holds up well.
I have a couple of ties from Vanda and have to say that they're more tropical ties. Very light weight.
Sam Hober is very nice, but I only have their grenadines.
Exquisite Trimmings has very good solid ties.
Cappelli has nice patterns but I just don't like the knots and the huge uneven blades.

I love my Hobers, but the selection has really dwindled. I've got all my grenadines and solids covered and have as many pin dot ties as I need. I know he has some new macclesfield silks in stock, but I was not overly impressed with the choices.

I know not where to find new ties. Looking for some fine brown neats.

Yes, the current selection of neats/Macclefields isn't nearly as good in my opinion as it was a year or so ago.

This is a real pity, because a wholly custom tie at Hober's prices is an unbeatable value.

    Cheers,

    Ac

I don't know anything about making ties but Capelli seems to cut sloppipy. Tell me it is just me.

I recently ordered a tie from the Spanish brand Tadino. I'll be starting a thread dedicated to finding "new" brands from all corners of the internet. And by "new" I mean that most of us haven't really had any experience with it.

Anyway, the tie should come in sometime next week. As for brown neats:

    Vanda:

    Shibumi

(and my favorite of this lot)

    Hober:

A less than inspiring lot, I'll admit. I'd happily wear the Shibumi, the Hober, and the second from NMWA

Broadening it beyond ties. And people will be encouraged to purchase and review.

(but I did forget about that [IMG])

^^ The first Vanda is one of my favorite recent pick ups. The last NMWA is on my list.

So taking close-ups of one's crotch without wearing pants is ok?

SF and the rules never fail to amaze me. :D

    @EliodA

Couldn't believe no one jumped on that for half a day. ;)

Big congrats on your win and title.
(As I'm mobile, what's your custom title now? LeGrandSeigneur?)

I bought a shantung quite a while ago, and it's not the most precisely constructed item. But it is lovely, and as it's a stiff old shantung, it doesn't matter much. A more recent raw silk number is tidier, but they are both among my favourites.

I got the brown neat myself a few weeks ago, and it's gorgeous. Feels a lot like a madder - similar in weight and texture to my beloved Panta madders - and it's a joy to tie. Shaving ten bucks here and there in a sale is great, and I'm a sucker for a special offer. Sometimes I will not buy something just because it's full price, even though it's cheap. Or I'll buy something because it's cheap that I didn't really want. I'm totally fallible in the face of a discount. But this tie, in isolation, is just worth the money. It looks great, feels great, and isn't very expensive. I think I might get the green one...

Thanks! No custom title yet. I have no idea, really. Though perhaps a not so subtle wordplay on 'member' might be fun.
