I have to say that seeing all of your shirts (everyone) is very helpful - and surprising! A lot of solids there :) I am only buying solids henceforth (at least for a while) though I do have a few Inglese and liverano shirts coming that have patterns - I'll photograph them when they arrive to see what you all think.

@jfrater they don't need to be all solids, you can also use small patterns that resolve to solids from a distance. Take a look at some of @chocsosa's fits, he's a master at combining micro patterns.

@ jfrater, Elio ain't so bad himself with the micro-patterned shirts--don't let his modesty deter you from giving his fits some serious consideration.

Okay - another fit - opinions? Pretty safe choice with the white shirt and pocket square but I probably need to still be considering basics.

    Suit: Henry Poole
    Shirt: Kiton
    Tie: Hober
    Pocket Square: Kabbaz
    Shoes: Lobb

I'll try to get a good full length photo later as the suit is one of my better overall fits.

Woohoo! The pocket square is, indeed, white! Irish linen.

Yep, that is some proper CBD. Nice.

I have 30 shirts coming back from the cleaners on Tues. I will need to take a pic. You will see blues and whites and blue and white stripes.

I don't see casual shirts, just a lot of crazy English multi-stripes. Go down great in London but not so popular on this board.

This one might go too far the other way - you're clearly not shy of a bit of colour, but all grey and white is, to me, always rather flat. Personally I like a white shirt sometimes, but I think that with the (magnificent) charcoal chalk stripe, a SF-standard light blue shirt combined with a nice neat madder, would be just perfect.

I dream of being worthy of Henry Poole *sigh*

P.S. Nice tie dimple. Makes such a difference.

There is exactly nothing wrong with that fit.

I actually tried it out with a blue shirt (solid) and a variety of different ties - reds, greys, blues, patterned, solid. In the end the silver/grey just felt right to my eyes in comparison. Now if I had a greater variety of SF approved ties the end result may have been different. Expect some changes in the future in that area as I bought all the ties that @Claghorn posted yesterday.
