Are you aware that beyond HY's absent service levels that he doesn't permit international returns? Could be a very costly exersize if they don't fit, especially as much of the sizing is all over the place with revised cuts.

There was a NZ based tailor posting on the Australian members thread for a while, Brendan or Brendon I think was his name. Not sure where he is located or prices but certainly may be worth checking out too. I'll see if I can find his info.

I've done international returns. But yes, I'd say just order one to start, because returns are risky.

This is the guy. Not sure but I think he is in Auckland or C/Church can't remember. He posted in the aussie members thread quite a bit late last year, very knowledgeable and nice bloke.

My HYs have the blue thread on the loops. Don't bother me none.

My international return with HY took 3-4 months to process. Had to send a whole bunch of reminders but eventually got what i wanted. Guess they're super busy.

Thanks for that - I just looked over the thread and it does seem to be problematic. I will definitely take that into consideration.

That's an understatement if it took 3 months! I bought a few pairs off him a couple of years ago before it all went downhill, have since sold them because I put on a bit of weight as we all do with 2 little kids. Anyway the quality was great, but I am 100% opposed to supporting companies with such shit, or non existent service. According to Fok he hasn't paid for his affiliate thread for a long time so the forum isn't even being supported by HY anymore either. I can really only encourage you guys to support the good guys that make good products and have good service levels whether they are AV's or not. On the pants front to me that would include both Epaulet and Luxire out of the AV's though.

Good service from an online store is piss easy these days in the world of tablets, smart phones etc. Get an email, reply to it. Someone wants a return, process it. All these small things can be done on smart phones with today's technology in a couple of minutes. I work full time outside the business and respond to emails on my lunch break all the time. It's just not that hard especially when you don't have to deal with customers face to face like traditional B&M.

At the time it was vexing, to say the least. Might've been 2-3 yrs ago.

edit: Pity, as I love the HY flannels I ended up with.

Absolutely, no excuses in the digital age for poor customer service. I can't understand that people would still consider buying anything when service is so severely lacking. No matter how good the product, there's always an alternative to be found.

You could send that pair off to Luxire to be duplicated in any fabric you like. Then you'd be set!

Thanks for your comments! I should add first though that it's a charcoal gunclub (gasp a gray SC? I can see it has a bluish hue though idk anymore). Does that change your thoughts on the PS any? I quite liked the fit I thought I'd done good this time, simple but relatively tasteful, but I didn't get many thumbs it seems. :(

Included picture here for good measure:
