Yeah, that's the one I got too. Great minds think alike. [IMG]

jrd: those spoke not sang to me as Stitchy put it. But I was tempted by the gingham and blue/gray block stripe you post (already have a few PoWs). I'd prefer a smaller scale gingham Henry Carter had one for a while that was also large scale, and I think it turns out to be a little less versatile than one might think. But with strong patterns, under a DB or sweater/vest is a good way to wear it (e.g. paisleys, IMO).

Thinking about the gingham (have wool but not silk) and the navy, blue, and white(?) block stripe. I'll probably pass on both, but thanks for the tip!

I also purchased the brown slubby tie. I needed something along those lines. I have an orange-brown knit. A brown knit with blue dots. A brown repp (a little bit shiny to wear with more casual fits). An orange brown raw silk. An orange brown grenadine. A brown cotton. Three brown neats. And a brown wool-silk. But the brown wool-silk is too skinny for me, and I don't want to overuse the cotton (those being my "purest" brown ties). So I've been needing a solid brown I can wear as my go to brown. And I think this is it.

I've said it before, but the idea of having a wardrobe made entirely of brown ties, blue shirts, navy jackets, gray pants, and brown shoes really appeals to me. I would never go to such extremes. But there is certainly an appeal there.

That PoW is an excellent deal. A quality staple tie for under 50.

I drove off with my phone on top of my car. I peeled it off of a highway after I found it an hour later. Lml.

I don't know what's more surreal. Putting your phone on top of your car in the first place - or actually looking for (and finding!) said phone on a highway.

Though maybe your definition of highway is also a bit different than mine.

The only solid brown ties I have are grenadines (I think), so I felt this was a good pick-up.

It was also inspired by @unbelragazzo and his recent gunclub post in the NMWA thread.

Brown has now become my favorite tie color to go with a navy or mid-blue jacket (rust and burgundy being other, slightly less favorite choices). I need more brown ties, but in my experience good ones aren't all that easy to find. Much harder, at least, than finding a good (mostly) blue tie.

    Cheers,

    Ac

Yeah, that is a great looking tie.

Noodles, when is that birdseye Formosa going to debut?
