Would the Marlow and the Vass Budapester lie in the same category? The Budapester is a monster, a real shoe-nut shoe. I don't mind a solid shoe; I'll even wear a blucher with a suit, but I wouldn't wear the Vass buda with any kind of fit. You could fit a Mack truck in that toe-box.

Marlow is MC. You can tell by how it is named. If it were primarily SWD, it would have a name like "Millennium Ghosthorse 2g"

Seriously though, as much as it pains me to miss an opportunity to argue with Stitchy, the Marlow is more MC than SWD.

I never said it was more SWD than MC.

    I said:

    1. Its not in any way a sleek shoe.

    2. It can easily cross into SWD type fits.

    3. It is one of the few pairs of shoes that is worn and appreciated on both sides of the forum.

    4. It is an awesome shoe.

I am unassailably correct on all four accounts.

Also, jrd, I don't think you understand how counting score works. You don't get to count points for yourself when people agreed with you and dismiss points for your opponent for all those who agree with him. Moran.

i definitely think it is an mc shoe.

the corthay is a very sleek shoe...and is a city shoe.

the marlow is not a city shoe. it is a casual "country-themed" shoe. it works well with country fits and casual fits, such as ones i referenced previsouly - corduroys, moleskins, etc....It is perhaps most at home with tweed ensembles.

if marlow is a 10 on country sleekness....then budapester is a 5 and those enormously clunky dinkelacker things are a 0. honestly...i think those things are the evolutionary cousin to the clog.

I wore my Marlows with a navy suit to a wedding this fall :hide:

But the wedding was a hippy wedding in the forest...

Thanks. I should have clarified that "the" budapester isn't top of the list....but I do like it. I just want that P2 u-cap a lot more.
