As everyone said, wearing a wider lapel jacket would be better
Be less concerned with matching them perfectly and more concerned about picking tie and lapel widths that balance your proportions.
For instance, I have wide shoulders and a big head for my height. Accordingly, all my jackets feature wider lapels to balance out my frame. However, I have no issues wearing a 2.5" knit tie with 3.75" lapels. You'll know whether it looks off balance or not when looking in the mirror.
Indeed, COMPLEMENT is the word of the day.
Sorry Rudals, must be pedantic here: use/mention. Talk about words, put them in quotes (you're not the only one).
I was too lazy to do that.
I am just a stupid cpa who doesn't know proper English. It's all about the $$$$ for me.
dude, you need to stop hyperventilating at the first hint of a criticism. the tie looks great.
But I want perfection!
In all seriousness, if the tie is $200 then it better be perfect for me.
I took a ruler to the tie and it is 3.55 inches.
I will wear it again with a jacket that has wider lapels and see how it works out.
The tie is beautiful.
AND I won't delete the pictures from HERE for educational purpose.
DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT ASK FOR A RETURN. This tie was made to your specs. YOU ordered a 3.55.
You, sir, are not helping. You are effectively giving crack to a crackhead.
At the risk of calling Rud out, no one should be buying bespoke or custom anything without an understanding and appreciation for why custom is needed.
Please, please do not get caught up in flavor-of-the-week or dick measuring contests with senior members. You will spend unnecessarily and eventually cause headaches for more than just you and the manufacturer.
Nudeles, if you don't like the tie width I'm willing to pay for the shipping to Messico.
More like gasoline to an arsonist!
Oh I dare not play with bespoke/custom. I can't even walk on my own (in SF). When I announced that I would go bespoke for a suit, everyone stopped me, thankfully.
Now regarding this tie order, I know it's my fault for not check-checking the specs but I assumed the standard would be standard for me. Learning experience.
It's all good. I'll just wear it with a suit that's got wider lapels.
And as always, thanks for giving us your thoughts here. We need a lot of help here (especially me).
