Talking about suitsupply, they've really stepped up their black tie game. How awesome is this one? I wish I had more occasions to wear a full black tie rig, although I suppose I could wear the jacket separately.

That's better than being banned from going to SF and from buying anything classic menswear.

Looks more brown than burgundy. And I am allowed to buy a blue jacket if its from proceeds from selling any clothes I already own. It took a slippery slope to get here. First she said it would be ok if I traded for a blue jacket (mrjester and I almost came to a sweet deal, but alas, he's a little smaller in the chest than I am). From there, I convinced her to let me buy a blue jacket if I just use proceeds from sales, since that's sort of like trading (I ended up just selling some ties to mrjester).

But I'm thinking I might earn brownie points by putting the money towards something not blue. Also, that might just be the right choice. I don't know.

    ------

Also, I love this thread. And this is why.

You guys all recognize that my wife's dictate against blue jackets is entirely reasonable given my unhealthy obsession with acquiring more and more blue jackets. So when I try to listen to her, y'all don't give me shit.

Though Mrs. Noodles...can be less reasonable than Mrs. Claghorn. Not all Korean wives are alike (to be fair, Mrs. Noodles is a bit younger than Mrs. Claghorn).

Mrs. Noodles: You buy too many old man clothes. No Styleforum for you. I will watch you like a hawk. Even when you poop. Especially when you poop.

Mrs. Claghorn: Jesus, Claghorn, another blue jacket? Enough is enough. What do people on SF say? [She regularly asks your opinions] Of course they agree with me. Why don't you get more brown. I really like that last brown jacket you got. But no more blue. You have enough. You know you get obsessive about really specific things

I'd have no problems wearing that, as long as it's somewhat appropriate. I kinda regret not buying this Eidos one last summer:

    Can I get a suit inventory? @claghorn

There are a million cloths I'd get before a burgundy hound

I am just trying to get as many of these as I can before my wife takes full control of my life.

Sure. But remember, I don't like suits and I only wear casual, country suits.

    Navy blazersuit
    Blue blazersuit
Navy windowpane suit (too dark to wear as separates)
    Light blue blazersuit (linen)
    Charcoal pinstriped suit
    Light gray suit
    Tan tweed suit
    gray windowpane suit

That houndstooth would get worn more than a mid gray flannel suit...actually any gray suit. And I have plenty of blues already (though no blue suit that would qualify in a CBD environment due to the patch pockets on all of them. I only have two suits--the two gray--without patch pockets).

That will be the last one. I swear it will be the last one. Just one more. Just one more.

I've not seen Clag recycle that much. So I am picturing his closet to look a little something like this.
