1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

@The Noodles having less than stellar things to say about your job online is a terrible idea unless you've found another job or you are branching out on your own. Keep the work frustrations offline and just suck it up.

Stop in for one drink (doesn't have to be alcohol), exchange pleasantries and small talk, then leave quietly. In and out in half an hour.

Unless you are in a Korean company.

    Then it's a huge part.

Noodles, I was too late to read your rant but think I understand the gist. Here is what I think you are missing. You are a leader in your company. You have your own team and are being evaluated on the job you are doing in building camaraderie and chemistry for your team. Clearly, the higher ups at your company believe your non-presence at happy hours and social events sends the wrong message and impacts the culture they are trying to create in your office. They are sending you a message on what the expectations are and you can choose to either get on board with this or find a new position where happy hours and social events are not important.

As for quitting, I would not quit without anything else lined up. Doing so will cause employers to assume you were terminated and to speculate on the reasons why. You can try and defuse this during interviews by explaining why you quit, but, in doing so, you will necessarily be disparaging your prior employer, which will be a huge red flag against hiring you.

Glad to see this thread is still exactly the same shitshow.

Cue LedZep's 'this song remains the same'.

I would like to note that I tried to get a donkey show discussion going. I tried.

That's not something one hears every day.
I have never been to TJ, but I have been to Hamburg, Amsterdam, and Patpong (which I will always remember as Ping Pong, if you catch my drift).

Nevertheless there seems to be a noticeable difference in maturity levels.

    Seriously.

More than anything else it sounds like he needs a therapist and a mentor.

13 years of marriage, 2 kids, and 10 years in the military.....could be a factor.

Get it together, Noodles! Work sucks...we've all been there or are there currently.

True. I know next to nothing about Noodles' life history though, so I'm not the best to judge on that one.
