Just shows how personal taste is.

I think the outfit looks super sharp, very British but modern still, I'd wear it.
Only thing I might personally change would be the pants for a dark navy flannel instead but that's minor....

Same suit, much better tie choice (in the Artist, Rebel, Dandy exhibit):

MUCH prefer it as a jacket

Also, the one you're posting is the "true PoW" similar to the Glenroyal brown/blue, correct?

The Poole "house check" looks tighter in scale

    yes I think so

    even more suit-ready then.

I think it's good as both. The suit is obviously very dandified and few could wear it. But I think it looks good.

It does look good (including the old pictures of the Duke) but the dandified impracticality of it makes it hard for me to relate to.

It's too bad I only just got home from work! I would've picked that up in a heartbeat if it were still available. That's exactly my size for Sartoria Partenopea. Anyway, I appreciate you posting here. Thanks!

I'm continuing my suit shopping while in the US from Africa. This time at a small Men's store nearby.

I tried to get better pictures this time. I hoped to get back to Suit Supply and BB for some better pics but not looking I can make it happen.

I'm trying to learn what looks good on me. Any of these suits specifically worth pursuing or at least on that fits decent that I can learn from?

    First up:

Paul Betenly 38S - Jacket Length is 29.5" - $695 for this suit; it is a little more than the SuSu suits I was considering but may fit better?

    Next Up:

38R Coppley Biella - $995 - A little more than I want to spend but I would consider it. - Jacket Length is 30"

That jacket looks like it sits much more cleanly on you. Back is hard to tell since the vents are still basted.

@mdancel the last one fits best. Length is ok to my eyes. However, I still see some lapel bowing, indicating the chest is too tight. Perhaps it's just your posture though, you seem to be standing overly erect. Is that your natural pose?

Curious to get some takes on something I've been thinking about for awhile. I have a black and white houndstooth "worsted cashmere" odd jacket with patch pockets. It was one of those things that looked cool but I have since found somewhat difficult to wear with most of my wardrobe. I'm considering just ordering a matching pair of trousers (exact fabric is still available) to turn it into a casual suit. I'm not really sure if I'm throwing good money after bad here.

    - The fabric does not feel like a fabric that would make a particularly sturdy pair of trousers. I'd probably get the trousers lined to the knee and only wear the thing 5-6 times a year, so hopefully that would minimize wear issues.
    - I guess the drape of the trousers is another concern here.
    - If the trousers do wear out, I'd go back to wearing the jacket occasionally with other odd trousers.
    - Jacket has been to the dry cleaners once and has no real signs of wear. I'm willing to risk immaterial differences between bolts of the same fabric.
    - Opportunity cost of getting this done is roughly one pair of Minnis flannel trousers from Luxire, which would likely get more use.
    - At some point I plan to get a black/white flannel POW or small houndstooth suit (most likely POW) to wear as a casual suit.

I'm not sure it would look that good as a suit. What pants do you typically wear with it?
