Claggy hates shiny ties. I think they are an acceptable option with a business suit. If you already owned them, at least a couple would be passable, maybe even all. But look through the tie joy in this thread, man. These ties say "I settled for...". Don't buy shit just because it's there (I need to learn this too, we all do it...)

Get your Hober on. Or Vanda or whatever. There is a lot of decent value out there, and three beauties in the Drake's sale or Cappelli's outlet or Hober's minimum spec, are going to live a lot longer in your heart and wardrobe than ten "almosts" off eBay. Think on.

These were the ones I was on the fence about. The ones I bid on, which I will show if I win them, I really like. So I get what you mean. They are the ties that I was "meh" about.

Have to say, some of these choices are interesting. You'd go to a desert island with a navy solid staple, a classic navy pindot, or a black knit? You'd bring a Hugo Boss to a desert island? Rust grenadine: 10 TF shiny herringbone: 3 (shiny, c'mon mang) Henry Carter brown neat A: 8 Hober brown herringbone: 10 Henry Carter brown neat B: 10 (I like the scale on this one more) Zegna diamond weave: 5 (shiny, don't like the texture either) Yount regimental: 5 (color are very blah) Gitman regimental: 5 (bad colors) Drakes regimental: 5 (bad colors) Yount blue knit: 10 (even though I hate knits) BB blue solid: 8 (where the heck is your navy solid? minus points for lack of navy in the collection) Shantung regimental: 5 (blah light colors, slightly better than the others; looks like peeling paint) Hober blue w/ dots or squares: 8 (where's the classic navy pindot!?!?) Hugo Boss :)fu:) blue with yellow microdots: -1 (is this the same Claghorn we know? Hugo Boss?? Points off just for that. also again, where's the classic navy pindot!?!?) Panta blue and red regimental: 9 Hober green grenadine: 10 Panta green neat: 10 Henry Carter teal neat: 6 (not a huge fan of the scale or shininess or teal color) Yount mustard knit: 7 (mustard knit over a black knit??? where's the black knit??) Altea windowpane: 2 (FUGLY) Drakes regimental: 7 (not digging the texture) Hober burgundy diamond weave: 5 (don't like that texture or sheen either) Panta burgundy grenadine: 10 Hober burgundy herringbone: 6 (color are too bright / saturated) Hober grey grenadine: 10 (I should mark points off - where's the navy grenadine??) AVG: 6.92

New Zeeland would a great place to go. But just watch out for the white guy in the below picture.
I told my fiance that I'd like to go to Jeju Island, South Korea and she said, "(#*&$(@*#&!)*@#!"

All but the first are good. I think that top is going to be hard to pair. And it lacks a single identity. Its texture says casual, the shiny dot things say...not casual.

Now that we were talking about hankies for a bit, what do you guys think of the cream silk square? I'm thinking about buying one, but is it really as versatile as Foo says?

The point is in the middle of the buckle. It don't get no more textbook than that.
