    HY USA? Epaulet Rudy? You can even go cheap and try something from Lands End. If they work, measure and return or send in with requested adjustments.

    HY USA fit. I have a pair of Lands End's chinos in size 32". Their hip width measurement is 42", so no help there unfortunately.

    Send those HY to Luxire for an order of one of their $99 wool pair. I wouldn't recommend any changes over 1" (other than inseam) the first go round and go from there.

    Does Luxire have any holiday sales? If so, I would wait until then.

    I mostly avoid RTW coz of the same issue. I have to size up to get the hip measurement right and take the waist in.

    Speaking of trouser fit, I'm looking for some comment on these walts from epaulet.

    Seems ok, but I'm getting a slight pocket flare, diaper butt, and some pulling at my calf. Other thoughts or alternatives?

    Thinking about giving spier and mackay a try, as they have a cut with wider hips/thighs, but I like the higher rise of the Walt.

    They fit almost the same as those Zegna Milano trousers to be honest. I think the biggest problem with my fits emanates from the hip area. If this is adjusted I will be able to spot more clearly other problematic areas. As for which fabric to order, I think I will have a chat with Ashish at Luxire, show him the pictures and ask for his proposal for alterations. I'm fine with ordering the more expensive fabrics ($250) and ask him to leave much room for alterations and send the trousers back to Luxire until the fit is nailed. I want to have Luxire nail down the fit instead of doing alterations at my own tailor so that Luxire has my measurements and fit in one order. That would allow me to use it as a template. I'll discuss it with Ashish. Thanks for your suggestions, it's much appreciated.

    Yeah, that's the conclusion I'm coming to as well. Unfrotunately. Even when I take out all fabric in the seat it's not enough. HY USA fit is one example.

    Unfortunately not. Are they roomy in the seat area?

    Sounds like a decent plan, Don. Good luck.

    @DonRaphael

    I suffer from the same issue. It's awfully difficult to get a good line with a more generous posterior. MTM has helped, but I'm still caught as being either too "old man" or too tapered. Quite frankly I've just come to terms with the fact that the "rules" were created for English people with no butts and that it'll never be "perfect" but who cares.
