1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

I actually tried three combinations this morning. Including one close to what you recommended. Then I said "fuck it" and put on jeans and a polo shirt.

I think this has to include a picture. I refuse to take clags at his word on such a matter.

Agree. No pics=never happened. Would be unfortunate if he were to be forever cursed with shoulder divots for breaking promise to styleforum.

Fortunately, I snapped a monotone look on my iPhone. Enough for y'all to see that I tried something.

(I was leaning over. The blade ended at the belt line).

I also tried with mid-blue trousers, light blue shirt, and a blue/burgundy striped tie. And then something awful with camel colored trousers.

If I had said I had worn it out of the house but refused to post pics, then you should doubt my word. But if I were going to lie about it, I wouldn't have admitted to welching.

But like I said, I'll wear a gray orphan. Just not that one. Easier one.

If I weren't honest in what I write, I couldn't have the man in my avatar staring at me every time I post.

This would make an interesting Friday Challenge (though some will be horrified by the very idea of it, I’m sure).

    Cheers,

Claghorn, you really should get a dark grey suit at some point. I know grey isn't your favorite but considering how many blue jackets you have, one dark grey suit seems fair enough (especially since you have that moratorium on buying additional blue jackets).

It got lifted. She knows what makes me happy.

I was going to get this:

    (I really like the fabric)

    But will probably get this:

As 38L fits me like a dream (except needing about an inch taken off at the sleeves, which is fine as there is a fair amount of room between the buttons and the sleeve end)

The jacket with the peak lapels definitely looks more interesting than the grey suit. Get what you will wear.

Yeah. Even with all my blue jackets, that blue peak lapel will get more wear than the gray suit. But if were to ever get a gray suit, it would be something like that.

Or a houndstooth. A nice gray houndstooth. That would definitely do the trick for me. I'll keep an eye out. Perhaps next time I'm in Seoul....

I'm about to start a thread on wardrobe building philosophies, including but not limited to the idea of having a uniform within the context of classic menswear. I am sure you'll have some interesting things to say, Mr. Blue Jacket.

DC SuSu store had some horrible fabrics. That is all I can att3st to.

I dropped off 2 suits with my tailor today. She immediately asked if it was bespoke and said it fit really well. I only beef with her is she kept asking me if I really wanted 2" cuffs. She suggested no cuffs to my wife's delight. I told them 1.75". Ready by Wednesday, picking up on Saturday.
