Good Lining (acetate, rayon, bemberg) vs. Polyester: how to tell the difference?

I have an old overcoat that lost its tags long ago (it used to belong to someone else). The shell seems like decent brown melton wool, but I'm not sure about the lining. Is there any other way of telling wether it is polyester/nylon or not, since the tags are missing?

Just tested it. I cut a rather long piece out from it's lower part (I'm gonna have that coat shortened anyway) and set that piece on fire. It bubbled a little (tiny tiny bubbles) but then it all turned into pure ashes. I just wonder about the bubbling. Cloth dye, perhaps?
