Good knot for a knit tie?

I find that my knit ties make large or awkward knot when I use any of the standard knots-- FIH, Half-W, etc. FIH seems to work, but I'm not 100% happy with how they turn out.

Any tips on what knot would best for you?

My knits get large pretty quickly so I just do a FIH even though I can't stand the knot. I recently discovered the Oriental knot (small and symetrical) a few weeks ago and I've stuck to it since.

I usually sport the double fih with printed or woven silk ties, but for knitted ties I have to resort to a plain ol' fih

Personally I like a tight full windsor but a four-in-hand is starting to look good too....

Full Windsor? That would be approaching Mt Spiffy proportions ...

How do you full Windsor a knit tie? The knot would be HUMONGOUS

Are all of your knits very wide? My knits make nice and small knots; this is probably because they are somewhat slim.

I don't think they are too wide, no more than 2". Here it is as a FIH which i still think seems a big large.

Is that the J. Crew wide stripe red/navy silk knit tie?? I was looking at it today but didn't pull the trigger.

i just purchased a knit-tie, and had exactly the same problems as mentioned above: FIH- I don't like it but nothing else worked.

I will try the oriental knot next time though..

Don't do a Windsor or half-Windsor. Not just because it's a knit tie, but also because those knots inherently suck.
