I bought five cotton handkerchiefs from T.M.Lewin.  They're all too big to be used for breast pockets (20.5" square).

Assuming a 38, perhaps 40, size jacket what size kerchief should I buy?  I've specified the jacket size in case it's related to breast pocket size.

Before anyone castigates me for buying cotton, let me work on the size before the material.

TIA.

You might try washing and drying them to see if they'll shrink. Then I would recommend using one of the pocket square folds you'll find online and I bet they'll work. You won't be able to cram them in or 'poof' them, but I think folded they'll slide in fine. A little volume isn't bad.

I bought one in cotton from T&A, the last time I was there. Since then, I've felt a bit sheepish about this and felt that I've been tricked. These are basically just machine sewn squares made out of cotton shirt fabric. They are too stiff and big and look akward in a pocket.

Hope this works out,

B

THey are a bit cumbersome. Thankfully they were half price, so I only spent £12.50 on the lot. I'll probably use them to clean my glasses (spectacles); they'll still work with whatever outfit I'll wear.
