Good Cheap shoes for winter?

I've been trying to find a decent looking pair of shoes for work this winter.

I have some Loakes, and various other leather soled shoes. I struggle to walk without slipping in them, so they will be no use for me on ice! Plus I don't see the point in damaging really great shoes in bad conditions.

After a little searching for something cheap, ok looking, and comfortable - I found these. Din't think I would like any Rockports, but thought these look quite nice & have a thin rubber sole.

They arrived today and have had a quick condition and polish. They're not going to last 10 years, but they were only £60.

Any thoughts?

You can buy quality g/w shoes (Loake 1880, Crockett Jones, etc) with rubber soles instead of leather . Commando or victory rubber soles provide good grip. Dainite can be quite slippy, but you can buy shoe claws that fit onto the shoes to enable grip on icy surfaces - outdoor/hiking stores sell them.
