What is a source of afforable, yet nice luggage? I've read the previous threads on this topic and they all seem to revolve around extremely expensive designer labels, e.g. Vuitton, Valextra, Jil Sander, Bottega Veneta, etc. Far too rich for my blood.

For the moment I'm looking for duffel bags good for week-long trips, but will be a making a rather longer trip (2 months) in the near future, so something larger would be nice, too.

This bag on ebay caught my eye: Floto Italian Leather Venezia Duffle

What do people make of construction and value? Is it wise to buy luggage from a place like ebay, or is there an online standby I'm not aware of?

I've heard good things about TravelPro as a good value.

I've had a TravelPro roller for about 7 years. It's nothing to look at, but it's been very reliable. I think after coupons and sales and such it was just shy of $150 at Macy's or Marshall Fields. (been a long time...)

Looked at the travelpro stuff, but to be honest I'm not that interested in another square nylon suitcase with rollers. At $150 a pop, it's not much cheaper than some final bids on the bag I linked to above (one just went for $203). I suppose I should have specified: is there a place to get stylish but inexpensive luggage? This Floto company looks promising, but I have no concept of quality or value. Still, it looks amazing.

Be careful of the bag you posted. I have no experince with them personally, but if you search for the brand name on this forum, you will find some distasteful results. YMMV.

Thanks for the heads up; I should have performed a search before posting. Still, interesting that there are such divergent reviews. Both extremely positive and extremely negative.
